Eden

After all the commotion, we all settled down in the living area. Bennett helped Brynn make an ice pack for Reed's hand and gave me a bandaid to help cover his cut on the brow. Fortunately, it wasn't anything serious, just a few scrapes and slight swelling. I could only imagine how terrible Nick looked. I smirked at the thought.

"So, what's the plan? You got boxes that we need to move?" Tate asked as we all sat.

"Just a few, the furniture I'm leaving. I ordered some new stuff." Reed answered. "I'm sorry, guys, all this shit." He gestured around with his hand.

"Stop. You didn't do anything to apologize for." Brynn spoke with a smile. "Now, I took care of everything you asked, forget all this nonsense and go on." She nodded toward the door. I was confused; I didn't know what Reed had asked her to take care of, and I felt bad he didn't ask me.

"I'm starving; who wants to head out for some food?" Tate stood, looking at the others. Brynn and Bennett both quickly stood, mumbling about where to go. Reed stood up, coming to me and holding my hand as I stood.

"You're coming with me." He smiled, sending flutters to my heart.

"Okay." I sighed, wondering just what he had planned. I slipped my hand into his uninjured one and walked with him out of the apartment to his car. I assumed the others were ahead of us, heading off to have dinner.

The new apartment building wasn't too far from the old place; it was a much nicer building and had added security. He quickly pulled into his designated space and hopped out to open the door for me.

"Thank you." I followed along into the building and the elevator, noticing that Reed had a smirk on his beautiful face. I knew he was up to something, and the more the clock ticked, the more nervous I became.

"Is your hand okay?" I squeaked out as the elevator continued to rise.

"It's okay. Worth it." He smiled, leaning down and kissing my forehead just as the elevator pinged, stopping at the fifteenth floor. "Here we are." He stood in the doorway and waited for me to walk ahead.

"Where do I go?" I turned to him.

"1535. Should be straight down that way." He pointed down to the right. I gave him a skeptical look but did as he asked. He followed right behind me until we reached the door. "Welcome to my new place." He laughed, handing the key to me.

"Shouldn't you do the honors?" I teased.

"Nope." He nodded, encouraging me to go on. I slipped the key in the deadbolt, then the knob, and opened the door.

As I stepped inside, greeting me was an insane amount of flowers and balloons. I'd never seen anything like it, only in movies. Vases of peonies, tulips, roses, sunflowers, you name it, they were there. The balloons were just various colors of hearts placed throughout the entryway, the dining area, and the living area. I was utterly shocked, and a part of me was apprehensive. Was this a proposal? It was too soon, right? It was only a few months, and most of these months had been filled with stress and worry. We'd weathered it well, and I was proud of that, but to jump into a proposal. Sensing my anxiety, Reed stepped up, cupping my face in his hands. He gave me a gentle peck on the lips before leaning back with the most adorable grin.

"I see the wheels turning. It's not what you think. C'mere." He led me into the kitchen. Sitting on the gorgeous, marbled top island was a small box. He snatched it up, turning toward me and placing it in my hand.

I looked up at him with questioning eyes; he said it wasn't what I thought, but this definitely looked a lot like a proposal. He sighed with a laugh and shook his head. "Just open it."

Full of hesitation, I opened the box to reveal one single key; relief washed over me as I held onto it. "Does this mean what I think? You want me to water your plants when you're out of town?"

"You are hilarious." He growled, pushing me up against the island, his hands on each side of me. He pressed his lips to my temple, then trailed down my face, neck, and over to my lips. His kiss was searing, sparks flying all over my body. It had been too long since we'd been intimate, and as much as I wanted it right now, my body was still so exhausted. "I want you to move in with me." He leaned his forehead against mine, holding me against him.

"Are you sure?" I whispered out, feeling insecure.

"Look around, sweetheart; what do you think? I've never been more sure. The thought of not spending every chance I can with you just doesn't sit right with me. I want to wake up and go to bed with you, and when I'm away, I want to know you are right here in our place." He held my hips, swaying with me as he spoke.

The exhaustion, the emotion, the stress of the evening, I'll blame it all on the tears that fell from my eyes. His words were overwhelming, and I couldn't believe I'd gotten so lucky.

"Come on; there's more." He tugged my hand in his and pulled me into the living room, showing me the flowers and balloons sitting around the freshly decorated room. Brynn definitely had a hand in all of this; there was no way Reed would have had the time. This was right up her alley; I knew she must have loved every minute of it. "Obviously, this is the living room." As we walked down the small hall, he indicated a room on the left that sat empty. "This is a guest room or office, whatever." He continued. "The guest, main bathroom." He let me quickly duck in to take a peek. "Last but not least, should you accept the invitation, this is our room." His grin lit up his face, his eyes sparkling with delight as he opened the door.

"Reed!" I cried out. The room was fully furnished. A beautiful king-size bed centered the room, a dresser across from it against the wall, and a TV already hung. There were matching side tables on each side of the bed and a small sitting area near the window. It was beautiful and not overly manly; clearly, he put thought into the fact that I could be living here. "This is absolutely beautiful and amazing. I'm so; I'm in complete shock. This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me." I turned toward him, immediately wrapping him in a hug.

"So, I guess this means you're going to move in?"

"Of course. Reed, I would've said yes to moving into a cardboard box with you. The fact that you went to all of this trouble to make everything so, so perfect. How are you so amazing? With everything going on, you managed to do all of this?"

"Brynn and Tate helped quite a bit, and I'd been planning this before we went to Georgia. I had to tweak a few things as time passed, and even now. Last minute, Brynn brought over some of your toiletries, the vitamins and meds, and a few clothing things." He showed me my things tucked away nicely in one of the drawers and then directed me to the ensuite.

"The tub was the selling point; I imagine us both in it." He whispered into my ear.

"Let's do it." I smiled.

"Right now?"

"Yes, a hot bath with a hot guy then snuggling up together in bed, in our new place. That sounds heavenly."

"Oh my God, you are perfect."

He quickly filled the tub while we both stripped down, kissing and snuggling before dipping in. We both fit perfectly, the bubbles covering us as Reed held me to his chest. I'd never felt more content and relaxed in my entire life.
