I ended up staying awake the rest of the night. I needed to come up with a better plan to get out of here.

I knew Colby wouldn't let me go, but he couldn't help it if I escaped.

He would just have to deal with the fact that he wasn't as powerful as he thought he was.

I had to be conniving and meticulous with every action I took.

I would act sweet and obedient to Colby to keep his head big. He seemed to like when I was submissive, so I would have to act like I was.

Behind the scenes though, I would be planting seeds. Showing people they could trust me only for the end goal to be freedom.

I got out of bed and went to the table that was in the corner of the room.

After rummaging through the drawers for a minute I found a pen and a pad of paper.

Perfect.

I then started planning.

Step one: get Sam's trust. He seemed to be Colby's right hand man. He was softer and much more likely to crack at my fake obedient act.

Once I had him, getting Colby would be easy. Colby trusts Sam and if Sam trusts me then Colby would, too.

I knew it was probably far fetched to think that this would go smoothly but I had to try something.

I wasn't going to stay here.

I was so consumed in my planning that I didn't realize the sun had risen.

It wasn't until the bedroom door opened, revealing Colby.

He wasn't wearing a shirt and was wearing grey sweatpants that hung off his hips, showing the top of his Calvin Klein boxers.

"Good morning." I mumbled as he came in with a banana and bowl of cereal.

"This is for you." He said as I put my notebook away. "Thanks." I said and took it from him.

"Is there a reason you didn't eat the food I brought you last night?" He asked and looked at me with a blank face.

"Wasn't hungry." I said and looked down. "You didn't eat the wrap I got you either." He said as I raised my brows.

"Are you concerned I'm starving myself?" I asked as he licked his lips, clicking his tongue against his teeth.

"Concerned? No. I'm angry that you aren't eating the food I'm getting you though. It's not very respectful is it?" He asked as I clenched my jaw.

"And kidnapping people is?" I snapped as a small grin creeped on his face.

"Touché." He said then ran his ring clad hand through his hair.

"I have to go out and do some business today. Your door will be locked. Corey is going to bring you food later. When I come back maybe you can explore the house. Depends on how I'm feeling." He said with authority.

"Yes, sir." I said as his eyes filled with amusement. "Good." He said then turned to leave the room.

I watched as he walked towards the door, stopping before he could leave.

"Please eat." He said and turned to look at me. I nodded then took a bite of cereal.

Colby seemed to be satisfied with that action since he nodded once then left the room.

Once I was alone I sighed and looked down at the bowl of cereal. My stomach was aching from the discomfort of being away from home, but I was also starving.
