"Can we stop?" I begged as Colby held my hands tightly. "No, sweetheart. We have two more exercises." He said gently.

It has been about a week since I woke up from the injury I had. We were in full swing of starting my physical therapy.

Since I was laying in a bed for a month straight, all of my muscles were weak. It was nearly impossible to walk, but I had to keep fighting if I wanted to recover.

"I can't do it." I cried out. "Yes, you can. Just two more then I can get your surprise." Colby said with a small smile. "I hate surprises." I reiterated.

"I know. You'll like this one, I promise." He said then kissed my cheek.

"Come on, just a couple more. You can do this, Jules." He encouraged, squeezing my hands.

I cried out in pain as I took another step down the hallway.

It was kind of embarrassing to do this where people could see me but one look from Colby had anyone looking away from me.

By the time I was finished doing my exercises, I couldn't feel my legs and my chest was aching beyond repair.

"I've gotcha, sweetheart." Colby whispered and lifted me into his arms, carrying me towards the infirmary again.

"It hurts so bad." I whispered, scrunching my face in pain.

"I know, I wish there was something I could do to help." He said quietly then laid me on the bed.

"Lay with me." I begged causing him to sigh. "You don't want your surprise?" He asked as I shook my head.

"I just want you to lay with me." I said as my eyes watered from the pain.

"Okay, I can do that." He said then crawled into bed with me, holding me tightly.

I could tell something was bothering him, but it didn't surprise me. I knew that he was under a lot of pressure since my father was killed.

It made me wonder what happened with his gang, since he was no longer around.

Part of me wanted to ask Colby what was going on but I was honestly a little hurt that my father was dead.

Sure, he betrayed me and hurt me by lying my entire life but he was still my father.

I was allowed to be sad about it.

"What's on your mind?" Colby asked quietly, scratching my back gently. "My father." I said quietly, looking up at him.

"Wanna talk about it?" He asked as I shook my head. "Not really." I said with a sigh. "Understandable." He said with a nod.

"Does my surprise include food?" I asked and closed my eyes. "No, but it can if you're hungry." He said with a laugh.

"I'm starving." I said as he grabbed his phone. "Say less." He said then handed the phone to me, letting me pick out something to eat.

I chose Chinese food of course then laid my head on Colby's chest.

"I'm so tired." I mumbled as he carefully ran his finger through my hair.

"You have to wait until your surprise." Colby said causing me to groan.

"I don't want a surprise, Colby. Just tell me what it is." I said and pouted my lip out.

"Cute, but not happening." He said then kissed my forehead.

"Then just go get it." I grumbled. "Don't act so excited, Jules." Colby said then started to get out of bed.
