"I know sorry is not enough to replace all the years that I wasn't here for. It isn't even enough for all the damage that I created when I was here, but I can at least say I tried back then, before I just left. But truly, I am sorry. I never meant to be a villain in your story, but I just needed my own time, and I'm sorry that it ruined your childhood. My choices ruined you and made you who you are today"

Already hearing the pattering footsteps that were trying to be quiet, as they ran towards my bedroom door, I prepared myself. I pretended to still be asleep, as I knew it was my youngest brother and sister's favorite thing to do in the morning, was to wake me up. I knew their routine, as I had forced it onto the two of them, but that didn't change the happiness I felt when they chose to wake me up first.

I heard the door creak open, and I made sure to wipe the smile off my face, as I heard them whisper to themselves. Luke would wake me up and Skylar would wake up Shane. Only the exception this morning, was that Shane was staying at a friends place, as it was school holidays. He didn't need to be around as much, but sometimes I missed my best friend.

We may be at least 5 years apart and not biologically related, but he is my built in best friend. I hear the two children count down, before they jump on top of me, and I grab the two of them, blowing raspberries into their stomachs. Laughs fill the room as the two of them try to roll away from me, but I keep a firm grasp on them, especially with Skylar still being so small and not wanting her to roll off the bed.

"Who do I owe a visit to, for sending these two minxes in here at such an hour?" I know it isn't necessarily early, but these two always get up extremely early when it is summer around here. It is like the sun wakes them up. Sunshine babies, is what I like to call them, or at least Skylar is my little ray of sunshine. Luke, on the other hand, can be a little grump, especially when the two of them aren't together.

Noah is hanging around the twins more, but he still hangs with these two, albeit the arguing that is starting to ensue between them. It is nothing deep, as I know these three will always be together for life, but it does get a little saddening that Noah gets annoyed that they tag along. They just want to be included, so I try and include them as much as possible.

"Nobody" Skylar giggles as I continue to tickle her, before deciding to lay them down on either side of me. Sky is quick to curl her body into me, while Luke tries to escape. "C'mere" I murmur to him, forcing him to lay in my side. I am going to take whatever morning cuddles I can from these two, for as long as I can, because one day, they won't want this anymore.

I snap a quick picture of all of us in bed, before the two of them are rambling about wanting to join me for my morning surf. I usually set them up with some breakfast on the beach, while I head in, and Shane usually finds them, but Shane isn't here, and I did promise Skylar that I would teach her this summer, how to surf.
