"Tell me your version of the events. Tell me, how you think this entire disappearance act was seen from your eyes, because I know how I saw it. I want to see how many lies I can pick you up on, and how much of the truth you want to give to me, considering I was 'so young', as you constantly tell me"

Over the last week, I had gotten much better, but before Blake and Brayden had left on Sunday evening, they had demanded that Shane let me stay home for a few days, and even Luke and Noah didn't say a word. Oliver dropped by, to give me the coursework that I had missed and constant updates on Layla and her friends.

It gave me entertainment, no matter how much it saddened me, and I dreaded being back in the topic of the people at school, gossiping about my dysfunctional family. I had gone the last two days of the week, hence why I had now been roped into setting the table for our usual family dinner. The twins were not coming back this weekend, as they had football, which for the first time this season, it was being premiered on the TV.

Meaning, I was going to be forced onto the crowded couch, so that we could all watch it. I wasn't forced, as I wanted to watch the two of them, but being with these people, that invited themselves, made it even more unenjoyable. Our only hope was sneaking off to the upstairs TV, without Shane or Riley seeing. Shane wouldn't care, but he would get in trouble from Grayson.

I knew the little boys in the twins would have loved this, when we all viewed each other as family, but now, if they knew, it would make their skin crawl. "Do we have to?" I murmured, as Shane brought in more food, making him sigh. I knew I was tiring him out, and I was waiting, holding out for him to give up on me, now that his group of people were back.

Now that he had the older half, he could slip back in and let Riley be in charge, which had slowly started when Riley called the school to let them know I was unwell and wouldn't be in for a few days, instead of Shane. I was losing hope, in him coming to our aid, and it was saddening. I was more sad these days, now that these people were permanently moving in and taking residency.

"Yes, we do" normally, he would have told us that he wished we didn't have to, but he just agreed these days. I knew he was tired, but that had never stopped him before. Something was happening, as him and Riley had come to some form of peace treaty, and I didn't like it. I stiffened when Riley entered the room now, making my skin crawl. I hated this.

"What are talking about?" of course he had heard, he just wanted to know what my version of events were. This was the old Riley I had once loved. I hated every single thing about him now. From the way he dressed, to his new stature of muscles and tattoos, was only the bare minimum. Every word that left his mouth made me want to claw at my own neck at his stupidity.

I turned my back to him, to finish setting the table, as I rolled my eyes, while Luke was on the other side of the table. He too, had said nothing, as I had been the one to start it. "Grayson is bringing the drinks, and I think George has cooked up some desert for later" Riley was talking like this was normal, having family come and visit.
