Larry's POV
Sal is acting different. Ever since he went on a solo mission to hunt the red eyed demon, he hasn't been the same sense. He's just constantly on the edge, and somedays he wont even come out of his room. It's not like him, and I'm worried.
The gang is getting worried too. Sal will barely come around them anymore. Not like in a mean way or anything, but it's almost like he's afraid. When we roam around the apartments, we end up finding Sal either in his room or in Megan's bathroom.
Right now, I was hanging out with the gang in my room. Sal was still in his room, though he did text me saying that he might come down later.
"Sal's been acting weird these past few weeks," Ash said, a worried tone in her voice.
"Has he told you anything about that night, Larry?" Neil asked.
I shook my head sadly, "no. He hasn't said a word about it, and every time I try to bring it up he either runs away or changes the subject."
"Perhaps we should force the answer out of him. I know I'm not one for force, but this has gone on long enough," Todd said, which left us all in shock. But then again, it might be the only thing we can do.
We continue to talk about other ways we can get Sal to talk to us, at least until my phone rings. I open it up to check the contact name. Sal! Sal's calling me!
"Shut up you fuckers! Sal's calling!" I say, answering it before he thinks I'm ignoring him.
"What's up Sally Face?"
"Just letting you know that I'm heading down. I just have to put my mask on real quick."
"Sounds good, we'll be waiting."
"Kay, love you Lar."
"Love ya too, Blue."
We all smile a bit when I put my phone down. This is progress! This is good. Progress, we're making progress.
Sal's POV
"You're actually considering bringing me down there?"
"Could you just shut up for once? I want to hang out with my friends and boyfriend. It's not like I'm going to lose focus to let you take over anyway. Now fuck off for a few hours if you don't mind."
I fucking hate this. This god damn demon will never leave me alone. I'm losing sleep, I'm barely eating, and I've even started cutting again. All of the progress I've made on my health thrown out the window because I'm so focused on trying to prevent him from taking over my body.
"Larry still doesn't know, does he?"
"Why would I tell him anything about this? My choice is final. I'm going to figure out how to get rid of you, fix myself, then everything will go back to normal."
"But consider this, Sal. I can hear your thoughts now. I know everything about you. Isn't it nice to have someone that you can tell anything to?"
"I used to be able to do that with Larry before you came along."
"Still, I'm sure he doesn't know as much as I do."
"Look, we're in the basement now. Just fuck off."
And with that, he stops talking. Now is the time where I just have to keep focus. I can't let him hurt them, especially not Larry. If anything happens to them I don't know what I'd do.
I let myself into Larry and Lisa's apartment, opening Larry's door to see the whole gang there, minus Chug and Maple of course. Todd and Neil were on one beanbag, Ash was on the other, and Larry was sitting on his bed. Music was quietly playing the background, probably so they can actually hear each other.
They all turn my way when they see me, smiling. I unhook my mask and place it down on Larry's dresser like I usually do. God I missed them, I haven't been down here in such a long time out of fear. But I guess I'm feeling more confident in my ability to keep the demon down and out of my head.
"Hey guys," I say, walking over and sitting next to Larry.
He smiles and hugs me, kissing all over my scarred face. "Fuck man I missed you. You've been so distant."
"I know, I'm really sorry. I've just...had some stuff going on."
"Shit man, wanna talk about it?" Ash asks.
"Nah, I'm good now."
Are you sure about that?
Shut the fuck up, I'm busy.
They drop the matter and we go about our usual tasks. Ash draws, I play my guitar, and all of us eventually play games together. Though I can feel the demon getting impatient with me. He's pounding on my skull. He wants control. Maybe I should- no. I can't, I can't put this pressure on them too. I don't want them to walk on eggshells around me, wondering if I'm going to lose it any second. I can't deal with that on top of this.
Though I can feel myself getting dizzy. He's getting angry, gaining strength fast. But Larry looks so happy with me here, and I do miss him. Maybe I could stay a little longer.
"Sal? You okay babe?" Larry asks, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I kiss his cheek and lay my head on his shoulder, "I'm good, Lar. Just tired."
"Yeah, you haven't been sleeping much have you?"
"Not really."
I'm glad he leaves it at that, going back to watching Todd and Neil play a round of the game. Though gradually, my headache worsens. And in one big rush, a wave of pain hits me all at once, causing me to grip my head tightly.
"Woah woah woah, Sal what's wrong?" Larry asks, placing a hand on my back.
"I...I.." Let me out "N-no..." Let me out, Sal "Y-you'll hurt them..."
"Who will hurt us, Sal?" Ash asks.
LET ME OUT!
And with that, I black out. The last thing I see being the concerned looks on all of my friends faces. And the look of terror on Larry's face...
Larry's POV
"I've got to go." Sal says, though his voice sounds weird. Almost distorted in a way. He stands up and walks over to the dresser, picking up his mask while continuing to look down at the floor.
"Wait, Sal! What's happening?" Ash asks.
I rush over to him and place my hand on his shoulder. "Blue, what's going on?"
He smacks my hand off of him, turning around a glaring at me. I back up a bit, watching him put his mask on and rush out of the room. The gang rushes over to me, asking me why I let him go.
"Eye.."
"What?" Neil asks.
"His eye.."
"What about it?" Ash asks.
"It was red...like the demons."
"You don't think..."
"God I hope not."
