Larry's POV
The demon thrashed about, pulling against the chains when he saw that Todd and Neil finished setting up around where Sal was chained. We were all shaky and on edge, watching the demon and listening to the laughter that came from his mouth. Todd seemed to ignore him, pulling out what I assumed to be his book on exorcism, but suddenly stopping when the demon busted out laughing.
"You'll never be able to do it. None of you can."
"The hell is he talking about, Todd?" I ask.
"I...I don't know..." He says, flipping through the pages of the book frantically.
"Maybe it's because none of us are really religious," Neil says.
"But that would mean that we have to get an actual priest. And none of us know anyone that goes to church," Ash says, sounding almost hopeless.
"Well, we know one person," Todd says.
I cross my arms, my face instinctively scrunching up. "No, nope, not happening. Plus, after what that thing did to him, do you think he is gonna want to help Sal?"
"Oh Larry, poor sweet Larry. I think he'll help out a lot more than you think."
"The hell are you talking about?" I ask, my voice almost a growl.
"Sal doesn't tell you everything y'know? Travis likes Sal more than he lets on."
My voice catches in my throat, in shock. Despite everything that Travis has done to Sal, he still has the audacity to have a crush on MY boyfriend? The fuckin' prick. Still, that crush on Sal might be our only hope...not that I like it in the slightest. If we had another option, I'd take it.
I sigh, "Fine, go get him."
"Actually, you and Ash will go get him. Neil and I will stay here and make sure that everything else is in order," Todd says.
"Not happening, I'm not leaving Sal," I say, standing my ground.
"Larry, you've been down here for two days. As much as I don't like the idea of you going to get Travis of all people, staying down here with this thing will just piss you off more. And the last thing we need is you trying to punch it while we're trying to get shit done," Neil says, putting hands on my shoulders. "Go. We'll make sure nothing more happens to Sal."
I sigh and walk towards the stairs, Ash following me. We walk in silence, Ash leading the way towards the church, where we assume Travis is when we're not in school. Considering the fact how he's always telling us that God will never love us, so he's probably talking to God right now.
We make our way inside the building covered in crosses and angel statues, seeing that it was almost completely empty, which was a little odd.
"Well, no ones here, lets go," I say, Ash stopping me from walking off by grabbing the back of my shirt.
"Not so fast. Let's look around." I groan as we walk along the red carpet in the center of the room. "Hello?" Ash calls out, Travis rushing out with a shocked look on his face.
"What are you doing here?!" He asks through gritted teeth.
"Don't get your panties in a twist, Travis, we're just here to talk," Ash says, knowing that if I have to open my mouth nothing nice will come out.
"Why would I want to talk to you?"
"Look, we have a serious situation and we need your help."
He sighs, "Fine, follow me. We can't talk out in the open." Ash grabs my wrist and drags me as she follows Travis into an office. He shuts the door as soon as we're in, and crosses his arms. "What do you want?"
"Now, you probably won't believe us but you're our last hope. Sal's been possessed by a demon," Ash starts, "We need someone qualified to perform the exorcism, cause none of us can do it."
"Tell me this. Why would I want to help? I'm not too fond of your group. Though demonic possession does explain what happened at school," Travis says.
"Listen here Travis. We know about your little crush on Sal, so despite what you say, you're not gonna leave Sal like that. As much as I don't like you, I am willing to make an exception for the sake of Sal," I say, some of my words coming off more harsh than I meant to.
Travis sighs and leans against the wall, looking like he's contemplating his choices. "I could get in a lot of trouble for this, but fine. I can probably leave in about two hours."
"Great! Thanks Travis. We'll meet you at the front of Addison Apartments," Ash says, giving a sincere smile before walking out of the room.
"Larry-" Travis says as I start to walk out.
"Here's the agreement. You save my boyfriend, and I wont beat your face in for your attitude towards him. Trust me, if there was another option, I would've taken it. Got it?" He nods and I leave, following Ash out of the office and back towards the apartments.
Travis' POV
As the two leave, I slide down the wall to a seated position with a sigh. Why him? Why did it have to be him? Of all people the demon could have possessed, why Sal? Now it's almost as if I have a choice to make, the cult or Sal. And strangely I find myself leaning more towards Sal. I have two hours to make a choice, and I just pray that I make the correct one.
