Larry's POV
The next day, Todd and Neil instructed me to bring Sal to them. Todd needed to inspect him for some reason. Ash decided to hang back while I went to Sal's apartment to get him.
I knock on the door, Henry eventually opening it and smiling at me. "Oh hello Larry, Sal is in his room. I'm glad you'll be able to keep him company while I'm gone for the rest of the month."
"Its really no problem sir, he was probably just going to come down to my apartment anyway," I say, stepping inside the apartment before walking to Sal's room.
I knock on the door, hearing a small 'come in' before entering. He's laying down on his side, wrapped up in his blanket. I sigh and walk over to him, squatting down a bit and pushing some hair from his face.
"Hey Blue, ready to go to Todd's?" I ask, smiling softly at him.
"Yeah," he responds, trying to sound happy, though his smile was forced. His eyes just looked tired, sad, and in pain.
He sat up and put on his shoes. I grab his mask and help him clip it behind his head. I gently grab his hand, feeling him flinch a bit, almost as if he didn't want to hold my hand anymore. Usually he would've loved to hold my hand, as his love language is touch. He was never good with word like me, so when he tries to express his love he would do small things like hold my hand or lean against me. Though now it seems as if he is almost scared to touch me.
We make the whole way to Todd's apartment in silence, Sal seemingly zoned out the entire time. It was like he was having an internal conversation with himself, but considering the situation I guess its not that weird.
We enter Todd's room, everyone looking up and smiling at Sal. Todd stands up from his desk, walking over and hugging Sal. "Hello Sal, I assume Larry and Ash has filled you in on what's going on?"
"You wanted to inspect and interrogate me, right?" Sal asked, unclipping his mask and setting it down on Todd's desk.
"Yes, if that is alright of course."
"Its fine, not like things can get any worse considering my condition anyway."
Todd nods, motioning for Sal to sit on his bed. Me, Ash, and Neil stand to the side as Todd begins, all of us on edge and nervous about what he could find.
Todd's POV
Sal seems to be a little tense when I ask him to remove his shirt, thought he just sighs and does it anyway. Perhaps it is a situation where he just feels helpless and is finally ready to get help. I don't know, but at least he is not fighting with us.
I hold back the urge to gasp when I see both of his arms wrapped in bandages from his wrist to just below his shoulder. I look behind me when I hear Ash gasp, seeing her looking away, Neil with a hand over his mouth, and Larry with tears in his eyes.
Sal sighs and looks down at his lap, "I'm sorry Larry..." he whispers, sniffling a little.
I back up, ushering for Larry to do something. He nods and walks over to Sal, sitting next to him and pulling him into his lap. I walk over to Neil and Ash, all of us in shock as Larry comforts Sal. We all knew about Sal's metal state, but him and Larry made so much progress, enough to the point where Larry felt comfortable enough to not check Sal's arms every week.
Sal calmed down eventually, though he remained seated on Larry's lap. I sit down and roll my desk chair over in front of Sal.
"Okay, Sal, did the demon make you do this?" I ask.
He nods slowly, "he kinda just enhances my bad thoughts, and when I get to the point where I can't take it anymore he tells me to. I used to refuse for a while, but when I did he would just take control and do it himself."
I look back and forth between everyone, sad at what the demon has been putting Sal though. It was apparent to me that this demon was trying to break Sal down, make him weak enough to just listen to him. Almost a type of conditioning.
"Sal, we want to help you, but we need you to tell us everything he's done to you," I say.
"And what happened that night when you disappeared?" Ash asked.
Sal just starts crying, shaking his head. He begins to hyperventilate, pulling at his pigtails. Larry does his best to calm him down, but nothing works despite his, or any of our attempts.
We didn't know what was going on, but it was horrifying to watch. To see our friend panic because of a question we asked. It's at times like this when I wonder what's going on in his head.
Sal's POV
Don't you say a word. I'll kill them if you say anything about that night.
N-no please don't. I-I'm not s-saying anything!
Keep it that way, you've said enough for now.
I feel like my whole world is crumbling down, everything around is too much. The air, my thoughts, its overwhelming. It's so hard to breathe, everything is blurry. Too many noises, too much movement.
You're gonna pass out if you keep this up?
Who's f-fault is that?
I feel a sudden touch on my shoulder, which makes me flinch until I recognize the touch. Larry..
"Hey hey, Blue, can you hear me?" I slowly nod, immediately latching onto Larry. I feel his chest slowly moving up and down, doing what we'd usually do whenever I'd have a panic attack. He gently rubs my back, "just breathe with me, everything is okay."
I gradually ignore Red when he tries to speak, just focusing on Larry. As much as I want to tell them everything, I can't. Red is strong now, almost stronger than me. I don't even want to think about what he'd do if I'm not contained. No I can't tell them, I won't tell them.
You're such a good host, Sally.
I'm sorry guys...
