Silas knew he shouldn't speed down the slick roads of forks but he did anyways. Silas knew he shouldn't have stopped by his childhood friend Mike Newton's house but he did anyways. Even though Silas knocked on the front door he still hoped no one would answer. This isn't one of the worst ideas he's had and acted on but still isn't the best idea. The familiar creak of the Newton homes door is what alerted Silas from his thoughts. " Si? You're back, when'd you get back?" Silas expected no other reaction. He knew Mike would be surprised unlike when he left, Mike was devastated. "About two weeks ago now." Mike had a beaming smile on his face he was ecstatic that Silas was home. " why didn't you call me to let me know, or come to my front door." Silas looked down at the ground in shame, he felt bad that he didn't let the boy know. " Sorry, it's been a process to getting back into the swing of things ya know." It wasn't exactly a lie, It was hard coming home with urges while temptations were all around you. It has been a struggle for him to stay clean but dammnit he was fucking trying his best.

Mike was trying not to stare at and admire the beautiful boy. The two had grown up together, causing trouble where ever they went. It didn't matter the year a half age gap the two were as thick as thieves as children. Mike always held some form of love for Silas. The type of love you never forget nor let go of. Now Mike has been in love with Silas Swan since the sixth grade. He couldn't help but fall in love when the quiet boy that he was spending every bit of his time with. At first, he was slow to fall as Silas helped him with homework, and how the gentle brushing of his fingers soothed his worries. Then he was quick to fall, he had tripped and fallen down the steps at the Swan home. Silas was quick to run down and help him up asking if he was ok and if he needed to go to the hospital. The boy worrying over him helped Mike feel better almost instantaneously. Sure Mike has dated other people mainly girls. He was trying to forget his love for Silas but he hasn't had any luck yet, and With Silas standing on his front porch with the sort of sad, miserable, androgynous beauty was not helping him on his mission to forget.

He'd always accept Silas with open arms because he was beginning to realize he'd always love Silas even if Silas didn't love him back. " Do you want to come in ?, There's cake mom just made this morning" The offer was truly tempting and Silas was going to give in every time with mike. Silas seriously needed to learn some self-control or self-discipline. " Yeah... I missed you." And with those three words, Mike was at the mercy of Silas's hand. " I missed you too." The two held a silent but understanding love for one another but they both would never cross the other's boundaries. As Mike led Silas inside shutting and locking the door behind them, even if it was Forks you have to be safe. Silas always felt at home with Mike. Once they were in the kitchen Silas couldn't help but give in to the urge and need for physical affection. Slowly with Mike's back turned towards him, he snaked his arms around the taller waist pulling Mike into him closer. Silas breathed in the scent of Cologne and detergent, the two complementing each other. The scent of Mike's cologne he has worn for years calmed Silas into a sleepy state, Mike always had that effect on him. "I missed this," Silas whispered into Mike's back. Mike turned around so he could hold Silas to his chest. " I did too Si." He whispered back pressing a kiss into the crown of Silas's head. " Want to go lay down in my room?" Mike was always sure to ask Silas these questions to make sure he was ok and comfortable with things.

Silas hummed in acknowledgment rubbing his face on mikes shirt. Mike knew that Silas didn't want to let go of him so instead, he picked up the frail teen to toat him to his room. " Still light and tiny as ever I see." Mike did not comment on how small Silas's arms had become nor did he ask about Silas's weight. Sure he hated that Silas struggled with food but he knew not to outwardly comment on it. Mike also knew about the other things Silas struggled with and never shamed him for it and he never would. "sorry" Silas mumbled into the crook of Mike's neck. " It's ok Si, I know you're trying hard baby." Silas smiled lightly at the pet names that were given to him many many years ago. He'd never get tired of hearing them come from Mike's mouth. He said 'Si' and 'Baby' so gently and lightly. It truly warmed Silas's heart to hear them. It made Silas so happy that Someone other than his father and Bella loved him.

Silas was fast asleep by the time Mike reached his bedroom up the stairs. He gently laid Silas on the bed covering him with the ' Forks county high school basketball team' throw blanket he ordered in his freshman year. Now Mike knew if he did not tell Charlie that Silas was asleep at his house that Charlie would throw a whole search party together just to make sure his son was safe. Dialing the chief's number from memory was like writing his name. After the third ring, Charlie answered."Hello, this is Cheif swan of forks county police department speaking, how may I help you?" Mike wanted to laugh at the professionalism in Charlie's tone but he didn't give in. " Hey, this is Mike Newton." Mike knew that Charlie would know him by his first name alone but still formalities and all that. " Hey kid, everything alright?" Mike loved how Charlie went from professional to worried dad in seconds. " Yes sir, I just wanted to let you know that Silas had come by and eventually fell asleep so I was just going to let him rest, and no need to worry about dinner my mama should be off soon so he can try to eat as much as he wants " Charlie let out a sigh of relief that Silas was somewhere safe. " Thank you for letting me know son, I would have sent out the whole force and a search party just to make sure he's safe." Mike couldn't help but laugh at the man's antics. "Yes sir, I know that's why I wanted to call and speak with you so you were aware." Charlie was glad that the two troublemakers had grown up together for once. "Thank you again, take care, bye now" And with that, the conversation of the troubled teen's whereabouts was settled.

Mike gently crawled into bed beside As not to wake Silas up so they could lay together. For a while, Mike played with Silas's Silk-like curls, while admiring the peaceful expression on his face as he slept. Mike held Silas's cold hand with his warm one. The freckles that dotted the small teen's hand weren't new to Mike but he still counted them on each hand whenever every time he got a chance. Seven on the right hand three on the left, yep some things never change. Slowly Mike became so calm he began to feel sleepy. The old house always had a slight chill to it unless there was fire burning in the fireplace. Silas began to search for more warmth in his sleep. Soon the pair were cuddling, their body's pressed together basking in the other's warmth. The home already had a draft to it and the cool march air did not help. So the two enjoyed the warmth shared between the two. Soon the cloudy sky turned into a soft rainstorm. After the rain began to fall harder and the gentle turned into almost a harsh wind, finally nightfall came. The storm didn't wake the pair nor did Mike's mother come in from work. His mother knew exactly who was over by the car parked beside the driveway. She also knew of Mike's love for the boy. She even knew about the boy's struggles. But she never discouraged her son's love and she never will. She also knew her son was good for the boy

Note: I dearly apologize for not having an update for so long I have been dealing with my mother's passing, mental health struggles, along with my physical health. I feel as if I'm now on the right track with my medications, overall health, and mental stability. I have also changed to a different school program as I am very far behind because of my anxiety. On better news I will be having a new book coming out soon, I already have five chapters written and now I'm working on the sixth, All I need is to type it up and add all the extras

also how do y'all feel about Mike and Silas? where should the relationship go from here? do you have any ideas I could use for inspiration?
