We head over to my office and he helps me set all the food out. We take everything out and start eating. He and I both share the end of each noodle and we both have the same noodle in each of our mouths. Then our lips end up together and we are making out in my work office. We end up making out for like 20 minutes. I pull my lips away and we both smile. "Gosh, you are so beautiful Juliet." I start to blush and he gives me a hug. We both grab a fortune cookie and I open up mine. I start to get flashbacks from the time we went to that Chinese restaurant together and my fortune was basically telling me not to trust him. I try to forget about it, but as I open this one, my stomach drops once again. It says "You weren't careful with trust." I was so confused by what that meant. Careful with trust? I am starting to think these fortune cookies are telling me something, something real, something more, and something true. I eat my fortune cookie anyways and ignore what the fortune said.
Hours pass, and Sebastian had already left when his lunch break ended. I continue to finish up my writing and check my messages.
Sebastian: Hey beautiful
Juliet: Hey!
Sebastian: So, did you want to plan something to do together later?
Juliet: Yes! I was thinking you could maybe come to my apartment and we could rent movies and read books together, would you want to?
Sebastian: Uh... yes, but wouldn't you rather come to my apartment first?
I don't understand why he doesn't want to come to mine so bad. Is there something wrong with my apartment? Or... is there something going on that I still don't know about. I text him saying that it was fine and we can just go to his apartment, but I still think there is something going on. More hours pass and it is already almost five. I decide to finish up some more work and I clock out exactly at five. I walk out of my office and on to the elevator. My work place is actually one of the biggest buildings here in New York City and my office is on the fifth floor. I finally get to the first floor and I head home. As I walk inside, Matilda is of course once again, laying on the couch with a bag of chips. Doritos this time. "Hey! How was work Julie?"
"It was pretty good! I always finish most of my work, so it was good. How was work for you Matilda?"
"Pretty great! I had so many students come in today and it was a painting day."
"That is great!" I say.
Matilda is an art teacher, she is actually really talented. She is probably the best artist I have ever met. I sit down and Matilda and I talk for a bit. I check my messages and Sebastian asks me if he can pick me up soon and go to his apartment. I roll my eyes and Matilda notices. "What is going on now? I just saw you look at your phone and roll your eyes Juliet. Is it about your boyfriend?"
"Ugh. Yes. It is."
"Well, do you want to talk about it?"
"Yeah, I guess." I say annoyed.
"He just seems super suspicious still. But like, all the time."
"Girl, you are still just overthinking this okay. Please stop thinking that." "Matilda, you don't understand okay! I promise you, he is being very suspicious, like he hasn't told me something. I can't be overthinking this anymore. At first, I thought I was just paranoid, but now I realize I am not."
I walk away from Matilda and go to my room. "I'm sorry Juliet!" Matilda yells across the room. I ignore it and flop myself on my bed. I just stare at my ceiling for like what it feels like forever.
