"According to the ritual, there must be an ample amount of darkness and energy for it to work."
Eggman muttered to himself as he circled the giant, glowing crack in the ground with a mixture of awe and tension. It had taken him over two months before of studying and calculating to find the place where Achlys had been supposedly sealed into the earth, but now that he was seeing up close, it confirmed the doctor's suspicions. "The moon was full when Achlys was sealed from the world, and will be full as he is released from the earth." The night sky was especially clear tonight, and the bright full moon shone through the circle of trees of the desolate, hidden forest they were in.
"It's almost time boys, the moon is almost at its peak, and the resurrection of Achlys is at hand." Orbot and Cubot had finished setting up the equipment needed for the "energy" part of the ritual, which was a converting machine loaded with three chaos emeralds.
As the sound of machinery started in the background, the crack in the ground glowed a deep crimson-purple, and as the ground beneath them began to shake, Eggman's face split into an evil grin.
It was time.
