Dance Connection (Eunhyuk x Reader)

Chapter 8

"Morning's here! Sunshine's here!" Seoyeon went all 'Joey' on a sleeping Renee. Rightfully so, she received a pillow on her face. "Morning, sunshine. Hah!" and a full-blown pillow fight made the girls' morning bright and gay. In a not-so-parallel universe, the beautiful D&E had a very ordinary start to their day. Donghae was exercising when Eunhyuk opened his eyes. He lazily got up and went to freshen up. When he came out, Donghae took his place while Eunhyuk started stretching. 

The doors for both rooms shut in parallel as their occupants made their way to the pool area for breakfast.

The pool area had a nicely set-up table with all breakfast items. Seoyeon and Renee were in the queue, waiting for their turn. Seoyeon was dressed in a loose pink tank top and blue denim hotpants. Renee was nicely dressed in an ivory off-shoulder top and a short pink skirt. With their hats on, they filled their plates with all they wanted to have and made their way to find a table to sit at. " Psst... psst... let's go there, okay?" Renee whispered. 'Huh?' Seoyeon, distracted by the food, was confused. However, food was more important (at least in her mind), so she followed Renee's nonchalant walk. 

"Hello, are the seats available?" Renee was standing in front of a table with Seoyeon right behind her. When Renee stopped walking, Seoyeon peeked from the side and saw Renee talking to Donghae with Eunhyuk beside him. They were both wearing beach vests and shorts with sunglasses and bucket hats. Seoyeon's face started turning red, but not because of the heat. 'Ah, I had barely got over my embarrassment yesterday. And she put me in front of him again! This woman!' "Hi guys, good morning!" Seoyeon said, but she received a response from far away. "Hello there, our knights!" a high-spirited Heechul exclaimed as he made his way to the table with Leeteuk. Seoyeon's panic soon turned into an inconspicuous sigh of relief.  "Mind if we join?", "of course not, please," Eunhyuk warmly greeted them, and all of them were seated at the table. The rest of the breakfast was consumed with talks about the weather and the world.

Sometime after breakfast, everyone gathered on the grounds next to the pool with hats and sunglasses on. Leeteuk and Heechul were standing at a distance with mics in their hands. "Uhm, hello, hello... hi folks! So, this trip's plan is straightforward... Enjoy as much as you can. There are a lot of activities that you can do in the resort. There is zorbing, terrain mapping, ropeway and archery. On the grounds To your right is a swimming pool and jacuzzi for you to relax. The recreational building has a games arena with basketball, air hockey, foosball, pool table, carrom, and the like. There is also a library in case anyone wants to read and relax. From our side, there will be a bonfire tonight, and tomorrow evening, there will be a disc before we leave! So have all the fun that you want. Let's see you tonight at nine after dinner for the bonfire!" 

Renee and Seoyeon decided to check out the activities on the ground first. They all seemed exciting and fun, but Seoyeon was not in the mood for 'physically strenuous' fun. Looking around, she spotted Donghae by himself, waiting for his turn. "Hey, Donghae!" Seoyeon called out. Renee was startled but regained her composure as fast as she could. They walked up to him, where he stood in queue, waiting for his turn. "Hey, what's up?" Donghae greeted them with a smile. "Need a favour, bro," Seoyeon said, "this one over here," she poked her finger in Renee's arm, "has dragged me to these activities. But I'm exhausted! Ah, I really don't think I can stand the heat." Seoyeon was trying to control her laughter as Renee kept on poking her from behind. "Could you give her company so that I can get a nap? Please?" Seoyeon made her cute face. Donghae couldn't help but laugh; Renee stared at her friend in disbelief. "Yes, yes, why not!" "Thanks, Donghae, you are a rockstar. Have fun, both of you! Bye!" and Seoyeon ran without giving anyone a chance to talk. Renee and Donghae turned to each other, smiled shyly, and waited in the queue.

After her sneaky escape, Seoyeon made her way to the library. She wanted to see it ever since Heechul and Leeteuk mentioned it in the announcement. Her light steps and calm demeanour bared her longing for some peace. 

The library wasn't extensive, but it was lovely. Calm and peaceful - just what she needed. She picked out a book and looked for a good place to sit and read. To her surprise, she saw Eunhyuk sitting and reading in a corner.

Seoyeon hesitated, 'Should I go? But the bus incident was so embarrassing. Ah! Forget it; it is done, and now we have had a normal talk at the breakfast table, so it should be okay... I guess...' She made her way to the table. "Hello," Seoyeon said to Eunhyuk with a smile. " Oh hey, hi! Grab a chair." Seoyeon kept her book on the table and settled herself before asking Eunhyuk. "So, what are you reading?" "Oh? Just reading some Fitzgerald." "Wow, that's intense." "Yeah, true," Eunhyuk accepted embarrassingly but continued, "I really like the way he portrays his characters. Each character has so many layers - complicated, convoluted, and yet so simple in their thought. I really love that about his style" Seoyeon smiled at his response, intrigued. Eunhyuk continued, "so, what are you reading?" "Ah, just some short stories from Wodehouse." "Oh, I love them! The humour is just fabulous." "I know, right?" "Yep! Then, I guess, let's carry on?" "Yep." they both dived into their respective books, silently reading and enjoying the peace.
