Chapter 21

"My dear, you are in love."

Seoyeon fell silent at her friend's declaration. Her restless heart was refusing to accept her friend's view.

"You wanted my opinion. Here it is - you are in love with him."

"But why? Since when?? Since when did he become so important? Was it that day when he danced on the Annual Night last year? No... can't be. That was just a dance performance!" She started roaming around her room, walking in circles as she talked. "Was it when we started working together and we started interacting? He was nice and sweet to me, but he was like that with everyone! Then why am I the only one so affected by him?? Why do I feel things about him so much?"

Renee interjected before Seoyeon started another soliloquy. "Do you realise how MUCH you guys have interacted? How much time you spend with each other? And how close and personal those times and interactions are!?"

But Seoyeon was lost in her thoughts. "Was it his intelligence that attracted me to him? He is smart... no, not smart, intelligent. And yet, he is so humble. He doesn't show off and doesn't make anyone feel less. He is so considerate of everyone. It always feels so unreal."

"Seoyeonaa, listen to me...."

"That day, when he was dancing the first time I saw him in the practice room, that sensation that his pain brought me... it was so painful. I don't want anyone to ever feel like that. He was so hurt and broken that I wanted to hug him so badly. But, all I did was shed tears. I am so stupid! AAAAAH!"

"KIM SEOYEON!!!" Renee shouted on her phone.

"What, what? What did I do? I didn't do anything!"

"YOU DID! YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH EUNHYUK!!"

Seoyeon fell silent in shock. 'Have I really fallen in love? Is she right? Have I been burying my feelings for so long?' "Renee, I am scared."

"Who wouldn't be? It is scary to feel that someone has that much power over you, that they can do one thing, and it could break you. It is a scary thing, I understand. But Seoyeonaa, tell me - how long are you not going to acknowledge your feelings? Can you change them?"

"I can try."

"But why? Is he a bad person? Has he done something for you to think badly of him?"

"NO WAY! HE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT NICE TO ME, minimally speaking."

"Then why? Do you have a reason?"

Seoyeon fell silent. "Not really."

"Then sweetie, you are doing wrong to yourself by not letting your feelings breathe. It is fine to fall in love with a single person. You are not doing anything wrong. You found a person, and you really like him. Does it sound wrong if I pursue Donghae?"

"Aren't you already doing that?"

"No, I am not because we are already dating."

"WHAT!?"

"Shush, later. I will give you the details. But right now, it is about you. Don't be scared. He is a good guy, and we all know that. We have all seen him have an inclination for you and you for him. So, why restrain?"

Seoyeon fell silent.

"Just go with the flow. The way things are going, I am pretty sure something major will happen soon."

"You really think so?"

"I do."

"I won't get hurt, will I?"

"If he hurts you, I will break his bones. If he loves you, I will give him my blessing."

"Thank you..." Seoyeon was sobbing at the other end of the phone.

"Now, now, stop crying. You are fine, he is fine, the world is fine. Everything will be good. Get yourself some ramen, eat lots of it and sleep. Okay?"

Seoyeon wiped her tears away, "yeah, okay. Thank you, Renee."

"Shut up, dumbo. I will speak to you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay, bye."

"Bye!"

Renee hung up, and Seoyeon kept the phone on the sidestand.

Seoyeon was lying on her bed with her arms stretched wide. Her eyes were fixed on the ceiling fan as it rotated, like her thoughts - circling around just one person. Eunhyuk. She had fallen for him head over heels, and there was no turning back. She just had to accept her feelings and enjoy every moment she had with him.

"Okay, one day at a time. I will enjoy my time with him to the fullest and see where he takes it. I can sense that he feels things too. Yes, I will be patient and live in the moment. Yes!" with resolve, Seoyeon threw the blanket away and went to the kitchen to make ramen.
