Chapter 11

Ross P.O.V

I looked around the room and saw Ang's scared expression across the room. I looked in the same direction she was, following her gaze and saw my son talking to Derek. Wait, Derek?!

I widened my eyes as I tried my best to get through the crowd of people separating me from Romeo.

When I got there, the guy was gone and Romeo looked at me. "What's wrong Daddy? It looks like you saw a ghost or something." He questioned.

"Oh, it's nothing. Hey buddy, who was that guy you were talking to?" By this time, Ang was standing next to me.

"Shouldn't you know?" He asked with a confused voice.

"What do you mean should we know?" Ang asked.

"That's Lucas, the guy who married Maia." He replied pointing over to the side where Maia was dancing with the guy we just saw.

"How come we've never seen the guy? I mean we were right there during the ceremony and Maia has probably known him for months and I've never seen him before in my life. Plus, why does he look so much like Derek?" I asked Ang as I played with the straw on my drink.

"I have no idea. It isn't him for sure, at least we know that. I have no idea what I'd do if it was." We watched Romeo play with the other kids as we discussed what just happened.

I must have zoned out because next thing I know, Romeo is shaking my arm. I look down at him. "Yeah?"

"Can I go with the other boys and play outside? Please?" I looked over to where Ang was originally sitting and saw here getting a drink from across the room instead.

"Did you ask your mom?"

He nodded his head, "She said to ask you, other than that, she's okay with it."

"Oh, well then yeah you can." Not long after that, he ran out of the building.

Maia walked over and sat by me. "Hey Ross! How have you been?"

I smiled, "Hi, I've been great! The band is going on tour next month. Its been forever since we've actually traveled to perform."

"Is that so? Well what have you been doing these past few years?" She asked.

"We did shows here and I've been acting on some more TV shows and I'm working on a movie real soon." I explained.

"Really? Does Ang know? About the tour?"

"No, not yet. I'm trying to make it to where her and Romeo can come along so I don't have to worry as much about them."

"Oh, so what do you think about the new arrival?" She asked smiling.

"I love it! I mean, I've always wanted a big family like the one I grew up with, so a second child is just the beginning."

"That's wonderful, I can't wait until I have one myself, it seems everyone loves it." She said taking a sip of her drink.

"How about your new husband? Is he a fan of having kids?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, definitely, Lucas loves kids. Actually, he was suppose to have one with one of his girlfriends a few years, but something happened."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

She just shook her head, "He doesn't think about it that much anymore."

"Does he know exactly how it happened?" I couldn't help but ask.

"No, he just remembers his girlfriend crying about losing the baby then dumping him."

"I remember feeling as if my world was torn apart." A voice said from behind me. I jerked my head around to see Lucas. "That is, until I met Maia and she made me feel like my world got a whole lot brighter and a became a better place." He said making Maia smile big. "You plan on telling everyone my life story babe?"
