Chapter 7

Ang P.O.V

**5 years later**

Here we are, made it five years since the hospital and nothing has happened, thank God. Romeo was now four years old. There was 2 more months until Romeo's fifth birthday. It made me very nervous. Partly because my son us already growing up, but also the fact that Derek had threatened me about it. I remembered the note I got the first day I brought Romeo home.

" I hope your son has a great 5th birthday when it comes, that is if it comes."

Ross interrupted my thoughts by sitting on the couch next to me. "Something on your mind?"

"What makes you think that?" I asked in reply.

"Well, the fact that you were playing with Romeo's toy to entertain him, then you just stopped. Five minutes ago." I looked down to see one of Romeo's stuffed animals in my hand. Then I looked at Romeo on the floor, coloring.

"Oh. Its just......nothing." I stood up and gave Romeo back his toy before heading to the kitchen.

Ross followed, "I know something is up, tell me."

I opened up the fridge and saw that there wasn't anything good to make for dinner. "Dang, I got to go to the store." I mumbled to myself.

"Are you going to ignore me?" Ross asked.

"No, I'll tell you after I go to the store. Crap, I also have to see Aunt Joanna. I'll tell you when I come home, but you've got to watch Romeo." I said, packing up my purse.

"What? But I'm suppose to meet the guys at Riker's place." Ross complained. After the fire, a lot of people felt bad for what happened and sent them money for replacements plus what they got as insurance. So, they ended up getting a nice house in a friendly neighborhood.

"Well, take him with you. Everything he needs is there. He can even play with Raven and maybe even Rocky might bring his two year old son Ty."

"Okay, but why couldn't you bring him with you? Just wondering."

"Like I said, I'm going to Joanna's. Were discussing work, things I don't want him hearing about." I argued.

"I said I was just wondering. I already agreed to taking him." Ross put his hands up in defense.

"Alrighty then. Love you, be back by night so we can have dinner." I gave him a kiss before grabbing my purse and keys. I walked into the living room. "Romeo, Mommy is going bye bye, give her kisses."

Romeo stopped what he was doing and ran into my arms. "Where you going?"

"Dinner has to be made and I got to go see Aunt Joanna. Don't you wanna go with Daddy and see Raven and Ty?" I asked.

"Yeah!" He said excitedly.

I kissed his forehead, "Love you. I'll be back soon."

"Love you Mommy." He said before running back to his activity book.

I went outside and got into my car. Ross wouldn't let me get another bike after what happened. I drove to the store and started to get what I was needing. That's when I realized that I didn't even know what I needed. I called Ross, sounding like an idiot.

"Hey baby."

"Hi...listen, I don't exactly know what we need."

"I know that's why when you were talking to Romeo, I snuck a list into your purse."

"Oh, haha thanks babe. Love you."

"Love you too."

I grabbed the list out of my purse. It showed basic ingredients like milk, eggs, butter. Then I guess I would buy stuff for this week's meals. I decided I would just have tacos for tonight.

I was in the vegetable aisle when a little girl about 6 years old ran into me from behind. I turned around and saw the girl, "Woah there, are you alright?"

She immediately stood up, "Yeah, I'm okay."

"Where is your mommy?"

"Um I don't know. I was near the toys when she said something about getting eggs." She said.

"Well, I have to go there anyway. So, how about I go with you so you can find her?" I offered, not wanting anything bad happening to her.

"Yeah!" She said excitedly as her light brown locks bounced.

I started making my way towards the aisle with the eggs, milk, cheese, and butter while the little girl followed me.

"My name is Lexi." She said, probably to break the silence.

"That's a nice name, I'm Ang." I saw a woman slightly bent over the eggs. "Is that your mom?"

She looked up and saw her before running to her. "Mommy!"

"Lexi, where were you?"

"I was looking at toys but Ang helped me find you."

"Ang?" The woman sounded confused until she looked up and saw me. That's when I widened my eyes.

"Chelsea?" I walked closer to her.

She flashed an awkward smile, "Hey......how's it going?"

"Uhm...good I guess."

"I uh...heard about what happened a few years ago." She said quietly.

"How?" I asked confused.

"Well, aside from it being on the news, Derek called trying to get me back on his side."

"Did you go back?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Well, has anything happened since then?" She smirked. "I realized that I couldn't keep up with all this revenge for something that happened in the past. So what, Ross didn't feel what I felt. I have to live with that and focus on what I want in my future, in Lexi's future. When I rejected him, all he did was throw a hissy fit and call me weak. I can deal with that." She smiled.

"What about the thing you said before? About Ross being the father."

"Derek made me say that. Just to mess with your thoughts and make you vulnerable. To tell you the truth, he actually is."

I became shocked, "Really?!"

"Yeah. That's the only reason why I stuck to harassing you and Ross when really I wanted to stop. Listen I got to go, if you ever want to talk, here." She handed me a slip of paper.

I took it and nodded. After she left I stayed there for awhile wondering if I could believe her and if I should tell Ross. I continued to shop for the things I needed. After I go home and put all the groceries away, I go to Joanna's and we talk about the assignments that were needed to be done.
