Spencer is your dad and you just failed a test

It was finally Friday and your chem teacher said that she would be giving back your tests today. You took the test on Monday and you knew you didn't do well. The past week it had been eating you up and you were so nervous to tell your dad.You studied hard for your chem test but no matter how hard you tried, you still couldn't understand it. The teacher starts passing out the tests. She is saying good job to people as she hands them their tests. As she passes your desk, she glares at you and says "do better next time" you plaster on a fake smile as she hands you back your test. You think what's the worst I could have gotten. As you flip over your text to see your score, you got a 44%. What? You failed! As you are about to walk out of class, you hear your teacher say that she will be putting them into PowerSchool during lunch. Great, you thought. Lunch is in two periods and your dad is gonna freak out when he gets home.

You sadly didn't get his eidetic memory from him and you definitely weren't the brightest. You get home from lacrosse practice after school and take a shower and get into your pyjamas before jumping into bed. You pulled out your phone and just scrolled through Tiktok waiting for your dad to come home with dinner. You suddenly hear your dads voice as he opens the apartment door. "Honey I'm home" he says. "Shit" you though maybe he hasn't seen it you guess based on the tone of his voice. Suddenly you hear a knock on your door. "Hey you in there?" he asks. "Ye I'm here" you say as he comes in. "Sorry I'm home late" he says. "I got so caught up in paperwork that I didn't even see the time- want Chinese?" Sure" you say.

He turns on his phone and goes "mmh a PowerSchool notification" "Your Chem grade is now an F??" You got a 44% on your chem test?" You start sobbing and explain how you just couldn't understand the material no matter how hard you tried studying. "You can always come to me for help honey. You know that right?" He says as he walks over to me and gives me a big hug. "Is there anyway you could redo it? We could go over it now if you'd like?" "I emailed her and she said I could redo it on Monday." You say. "Well let's get learning" he tells me. "What topic are you learning right now" "percent composition" you respond. The whole weekend you studied the unit with your dad so when you went back in on Monday to take it, you understood it properly and got an A.
