Kidow had never met the reaping Exterminator, said to wield a scythe and a small girl traveling with him, and he honestly never expected to. After all, the other man is known for only going after full grown Cagasters, ones that have already shifted and been bugs for who knows how long. It's said the man cuts a deep enough chunk of skin off that the girl only has to fire one shot in order to kill the Cagasters, and that's with one swing on his scythe. Honestly, Kidow just wants to know who trained the man, because scythes are ridiculously heavy and getting through enough skin for a single shot to kill one? Damn, he's strong too.

That does not mean he wants to get on the guy's bad side, however. He would really prefer not that. He figures the chances are lower now, since he's traveling all over the place with IIlie by his side, and they're resting by a town, right near the ocean, a good place to be because the bugs can not swim in water or fly if their wings get wet. In the desert, E05 and the Far East, water is precious so they can't waste it on bugs, but here, where they can just purify a cup of ocean water in a few minutes, they have no troubles dowsing bugs down in order for the civilians to help kill them.

Of course, Kidow and Illie try to stay out of the way, refusing to get into that, not wanting to get used to that kind of take down, since so much of the nearby place is desert. Honestly, being able to see the ocean is good, though Kidow really wants to see a forest or something like it, a place filled with trees. After all, the only trees he knows of are the burnt husks he used to see all over the place, in the desert, even this town has none. They're resting in the Inn, both preparing to go to sleep - they've long grown used to sleeping in the same space, the nights always cold and sometimes no towns nearby to offer beds - when they hear screaming, yells and cries, normal for a Cagaster attack.

The laughter though, the maniacal, not really sane laughter is not normal, so maybe not a Cagaster attack. They both hurry towards the window, peering out it. Kidow blinks in surprise, recognizing the scythe and almost instantly knowing who this might be, while Illie wonders if they should maybe stop him.

"Zack, knock it off. The Cagaster is going to get away." The voice is quiet and almost professional, except there's exasperation in it, clearly she's long used to his antics. The man with the scythe droops, arm holding the handle and propping it over his shoulder.

"Raaaaay. Why you gotta ruin my fun, hmm? We've already lived far past when we should've, no point in being bothered with this. Besides, now I get a free pass for killing people once they grow wings."

Kidow blinks, he'd not expected the famous Reaping Exterminator to sound so young, much less whine at his partner - Ray? Must be a nickname or short for something - about the way she tries to keep him on track. He's a really eccentric one, that Exterminator. Illie feels a bit of amusement, Kidow might not be as bad, but he's eccentric in his own ways, so she feels that poor girls troubles a bit. They both watch as the man steadies himself, a predator-like focus overcoming in, then he lunges forward, swinging the scythe in a fell swoop, striking the cagaster they can only just make out in the shadows. The bug screeches, yanking away, but it doesn't get far, the scythe still stuck in it tugging it back down, the girl more aware it's night time pulls out a silencer.

The flash of the gun going off is bright, but the shot is almost perfect, going right through the bit of muscle still left of the Cagaster's neck. The bullet hits a building, lodging without ricocheting, something Kidow is interested in, because ricochet are extremely difficult to get, much less to aim and not get them on purpose? The girl is just as good as the other. They're both pretty good Exterminators, even if most people don't believe that the girl is one, since she's short. Barely taller than Illie, so maybe around shoulder height for Kidow.
