"Everything went smooth, Sylas." August muttered, focusing on the jay he was rolling.
"Oh yeah? So why the fuck am I having people telling me you shot that man's house up! You were supposed to just deliver his shit, August!" Sylas yelled, pacing in front of August while he sat on the couch of their house.
The twins decided to move in together for the time being but the both of them knew it was going to be permanent.
"Ask that nigga why it went the way it did."
"Nigga you killed him!"
"Welp." August shrugged and licked the blunt shut, "Guess we'll never know. I got the money, X, whatchu' geekin' for?"
"Fuck does that even mean?" Sylas scoffed.
"Why you actin' like a bitch is my question." He blinked, staring at Sylas while he flicked his lighter.
Sylas smacked the lighter out of August's hand, mugging him. "You won't fuck up my shit, Anthony."
August pulled another lighter out of his pocket and flicked it, daring Sylas to come close to him again. "Your shit huh? Since when was G3 yo' shit?"
"Since Kali went missing, August. If something happens to her, it goes to me. When she comes back-"
"When she comes back..." August repeated.
"That's what I said."
"It's been almost two months, you still believe it that?Sit down." August said softly, watching his little brother plop down on the seat next to him.
"I truly do, August." Sylas shook his head. "I-I'm usually the one to put this shit together. I'm usually the one that solves the puzzle but I can't even focus bruh." Sylas huffed. "I can't sit here and put pieces together but something is telling me that she's alive. She just has to be."
August leaned back and let Sylas ramble.
August did believe that Kali was alive, nothing added up to him. Her body never hit the ground, her jewelry was stacked together on the ground neatly, and that was it. There was no way she was dead but to him, pretending that she was, was way easier.
He was on Sylas's side but holding on to that amount of hope killed him on the inside. He had to suffer with the fact that he lost the love of his life both emotionally and physically and he had nobody to blame but himself.
"She's gone... Sylas." August blurted out softly, making Sylas stop talking. "She's never coming back." He whispered, feeling a tear roll down his cheek.
"We lost her forever and it's all of our faults." He muttered, clenching his jaw.
"How could say that?" Sylas scoffed.
"How the fuck couldn't I, Sylas?" August snapped, putting his jay in the ash tray. "We haven't heard shit from anybody in a fucking month!" August yelled. "Then you try to come to us with some bullshit ass lead! Yes her body never landed but who's to say she's not already dead!"
"So what, you gon' give up!" Sylas yelled back, standing up, making August stand up too.
"Nigga no but let's be fucking logical! You've never been dumb Sylas, don't start that shit now!" August seethed. "You think I wanna say that shit bruh?"
August's face slowly contorted as his anger levels started to rise. "You think I wanna sit here and look you in yo' face and say that my girl dead bruh! You think I wanna sit here and have to accept the fact that I lost the love of my life?" August sniffed. "I don't wanna admit that shit bruh but it's easier than pretending like she's coming back, that shit does more harm than good! Look at the people we love bruh!" August stressed.
