Nero's Pov

The day I'd been waiting for came. I wasn't sure how I felt about what Kyrie did at my parents' wedding, but I thought she wouldn't do anything embarrassing if her brother was around.

I was wrong.

The first thing Kyrie did when she arrived was run up to me and hug me in front of everyone. Her parents, my parents, and her brother were all there. I saw her older brother looking at me. He didn't look angry, but I didn't know what he was thinking.

Their parents left, and we went inside to play in my room.

Credo didn't really get involved with it, but he was watching both of us. Kyrie didn't do anything too crazy, and I kept my arm hidden. At one point she got up to go to the bathroom, leaving me alone with Credo.

Credo: "Kyrie has been acting weird lately."

Nero: "S-she has? How?"

Credo: "When she heard we were coming over, she seemed super happy about it. Like more than before."

Nero: "Oh." I sheepishly tensed up. I wasn't even sure how I felt, but I knew it wasn't the same way I felt about anyone else. Then dad came in.

Y/N: "Credo, your mom just called to ask me if you and Kyrie wanted to stay over tonight. Apparently your parents went on a date that's running longer than they expected."

Credo: "I'm ok with that." Kyrie came back and he told her.

Kyrie: "Can we?"

Y/N: "I'll tell them. I guess that means we need to figure out how to do this. We have a guest bedroom, but it only has one bed." Kyrie and I looked at each other with our faces red. We were both thinking the same thing, but neither of us wanted to say it.

Kyrie: "That's fine." I hadn't even realized I was holding my breath, but I let it out. I was starting to figure out what I was feeling for her. I was only 5 years old, but it matched how my mom and dad had described the way they felt about each other.

Dad left and I shyly picked up a book he'd been using to teach me how to read hoping to distract myself. I could feel my heart beating and my face felt warm.

Credo: "Have your parents started teaching you to read?"

Nero: "Yeah."

Credo: "I'm not surprised. I know your dad used to work at a library."

Nero: "This used to be a library. It got destroyed by the big statue of grand- I mean Sparda." I made eye contact with Kyrie.

Credo: "Where were you and your family during that? Kyrie was looking all over for you once we got to safety."

Kyrie: "I was so worried!"

Credo: "Yes, but with how many people there were, there was no way you would find him." I couldn't tell them the truth, so I tried to just come up with something.

Nero: "When the demons started attacking, me and dad stayed in our house. We didn't go to the services, so we didn't hear about the demons showing up until it was too late to run away. Mom went out to fight them off, but when the big statue showed up, she came in and hid with us." I hoped that sounded believable.

Kyrie: "You stayed in the city?" She sounded horrified.

Nero: "My mom hunts demons, it was fine." She sounded satisfied at that. She knew the truth about me, but she still sounded worried when she heard we stayed.

Credo: "I wanted to be a knight in the Order, before they fell."

Nero: "What they said about Sparda isn't true."
