[ O i k a w a ]
Atsumu fell asleep up in my room, right now I'm in the living room watching Twilight on Amazon Prime Video. My mom is making me a second cup of coffee so I can feel energized throughout the day and not fuck up my sleep schedule by taking a long ass nap.
"Here you go, sweetie." My mom says, walking around the couch and handing me a warm cup of coffee before sitting down beside me. She hums, looking up at the 70-inch TV screen above the fireplace. "You should let me meet the rest of your friends. Judging by Atsumu alone, I can tell that all of them are good kids."
"They are," I respond quietly, looking out the window to the right of the TV. It's 11 AM, so the sun is up. Atsumu passed out 4 hours ago while I was still wide awake, so I came down here to watch movies with my mom.
Before either of us can say anything else, my dad walks down the stairs. He walks over and kisses our foreheads before walking to the kitchen. "Tooru's friend is over, Hiro. Just thought you should know so you don't panic when you see someone else walking down the stairs." At this, the man whips around and stares at us.
"It's not Iwaizumi Hajime, is it?" At this, I shake my head.
"Atsumu Miya, the one that came by a couple of days ago. He was in a car accident earlier this morning and called Tooru about it. He has a concussion, a doctor confirmed that once they went to the hospital." The woman says.
"Oh, alright then." The man says, continuing on walking into the kitchen. Hearing someone else walk down the stairs, we look up and spot Atsumu yawning and slowly walking down.
"Sleep well?" My mom asks.
"Like a baby." The faux blonde responds, walking over and sitting down. He looks down, depressed... He really loves Sakusa, and the guy just ruined his life. I hope I'm right and that there's more to it. For Atsumu's sake, I need to be right.
"Hey, I know you're supposed to rest, but do you want the others to come by and hang out?" I ask, looking over at Atsumu who nods eagerly. "I'll tell them to bring all your favorite stuff and spoil you." At this, the two beside me chuckle. "What? I'm serious."
—
Hearing knocks on the door, I stand up from the couch and jog over, opening the door to reveal most of our friends. Stepping aside to let them in, their jaws drop to the floor. "You got a nice place," Suna says as Atsumu comes into view. "Oh my gosh, your head!" He and the others rush over to him, swarming him with questions.
"Guys, step back a little. We're supposed to be taking it easy for the next few days." I say, walking around to stand beside the faux blonde.
"Okay, but what happened to him? All you said was that Atsumu needed our comfort and junk food." Kenma says, tilting his head to the side just a bit. Osamu should be here soon, I'm sure his parents told him what happened to his twin.
"Atsumu and Sakusa broke up at 2 in the morning and he decided to be reckless and go out for a drive while hysteric. He crashed into a street pole and hit his head, now suffering from a concussion. I took him to the hospital after he called me, and the doctor confirmed it. All we need to do is comfort him in this time of need." I say sternly.
"Oooohhhh can I go smack a bitch? Osamu gonna punch Sakusa for that stunt." Suna says, bouncing up and down anxiously while cracking his knuckles.
"We can deal with him on Monday, for now, let's focus on 'Tsumu," Akaashi says, the rest of us nodding. My mom walks into the room, grabbing our attention.
"Guys, this is my mom. Mom, these are some of my friends. Suna, Kenma, Akaashi, Tendou, Makki, and Shirabu." At this, my mom smiles brightly.
"You all can call me Kaede. If you need anything, I'll be upstairs." She says, waving as she walks upstairs. We all then head into the living room and sit down, talking amongst ourselves for a while until Osamu arrives. Atsumu breaks down in his arms, the both of them sliding to the ground as the rest of us watch with broken hearts.
The impact Sakusa has on his life...
After another while, another knock is heard at the door. "I'll get it," I say, standing up and walking over. Upon opening it, I gulp and immediately step out and close the door. "What the hell are you doing here, Sakusa?" I ask, not bothering to look at Iwaizumi.
"I'm here to see Atsu. There was a huge misunderstanding. My sister took my phone and broke up with him because she thinks he's bad for me. I would never break up with him, the only person who could convince me to leave him is him." He says, worry in his tone.
"He called me at 3 in the morning telling me that he crashed into a street pole, he's suffering a concussion because of that. But I would suggest talking to him on Monday because no one is going to let you near him, especially not his brother." I mumble, crossing my arms.
"He got hurt... Because of my sister. Fuck..." He mutters, tears welling in his eyes. "Okay, I'll talk to him on Monday and give him some space until then." I was right, there was more to it. Atsumu reacted on impulse, he was a mess when I found him. His face was wet, his eyes red and puffy. God, it hurt when I saw him like that.
Sakusa then turns around, walking away with Iwaizumi close behind him. Why do I feel like he had something to say but just left instead of saying anything? Ah, it's whatever. I can't tell Atsumu that Sakusa was here, so I need to come up with a lie. Eh, I'll just say that Iwaizumi came by. I mean, it is true. Half true technically.
Walking back inside, I head into the living room and no one seems to ask who was at the door.
—
Pulling into the parking lot, I park in my normal parking space and step out, Atsumu and Akaashi waiting for me. "What took you so long?" Akaashi asks just as I wave a Starbucks drink in his face. "No need to brag." He says, rolling his eyes.
As we head in, Atsumu is quiet. No doubt he's worried about seeing Sakusa, but now that I know what happened, I'm not nervous in the slightest.
Heading to our 1st-period class, a certain curly-haired raven is leaning up against the wall next to the entrance to math. Atsumu flinches back, grabbing my arm. "He has a good excuse, trust me," I say softly, urging him forward. He lets out a shaky sigh before walking over to Sakusa. They then walk off to talk somewhere private.
"You know what his excuse is?" Akaashi asks, walking into class with me.
"Mhm. He stopped by on Saturday with Iwaizumi, telling me about what happened. It wasn't him who broke up with Atsumu. It was his sister. She believes that Atsumu is bad for her brother, that's why she did it." I say, sitting down across from Kuroo.
"Wait, what happened?" Kuroo asks.
After explaining what happened, he grimaces. "Jesus, that's a lot to process."
"I know right? Anyway... Sota stopped messaging and I'm getting kinda suspicious about it. Haven't gotten a message from him since Friday." I say, the two looking at each other for a split second before looking back at me.
"That's weird. Worrisome actually... Didn't you say that he's unpredictable?"
"Yes."
"Let's hope he got arrested," Kuroo says, leaning back in his chair. Looking over, Atsumu has a happy but guilty expression on his face. "He told you what happened?" The man asks as the faux blonde sits down and nods.
"We're all good now." He responds.
"That's awesome, 'Tsumu!" Akaashi says happily, smiling brightly.
Why do I have that sudden gut feeling that something bad is about to happen? It's honestly nauseating and I don't know what to do about it. I feel like vomiting like I did last Monday. God, now I'm just anticipating 2nd period.

A/N: I'm just gonna warn you ahead of time, next chapter is gonna be filled with angst. No fluff or closure, just pure angst. Mostly. There will be sensitive topics and scenes, so get ready for it. I will still put up a warning at the top of the chapter.
