Chapter 12: Ghost of Geonosis Part 1

Flying through Hyperspace, Ezra steps onto the bridge, taking his seat. "So, do we finally get to find out what this mission is about?" he asks, the others just look at him as Sabine smacks the back of his head. "Hera already told you. It's secret." she reminds him.

Leo rolls his eyes going over all the items his ship still needs, Ezra rubs the back of his head "Isn't that everything we do?" he asks, Leto chirps at him as Hera turns in her chair, "Some things more than others." she informs then turns again, "OK, Chop, Command through." she orders.

Mako straightens herself out, and Zeb leans against her chair as the holo came on. They all looked ahead as Sato and Amelia were accompanied by a familiar face, "Senator Organa?" Hera said aloud.

"I wanted to explain the mission personally, Captain Syndulla. There is much at stake." Organa warns them, and Leo lowers his datapad. "How can we help?" Kanan asks. "Rebel command received your report on the apparent disappearance of the Geonsian people. After some debate, we decided to risk and investigate," he informs them.

"So we're looking for Geonosians?" Ezra asks, Leo flicks his eyes momentarily with Zeb. "No. you're looking for the team we already sent. We lost contact with them two cycles ago." Organa informs them.

"Do you think it was the Empire?" Kanan asks, Amelia just shook her head, "Doubtful. The Empire just makes routine patrols, and there have been no reports of them actually setting foot on the surface, even after the Clone Wars." she informs them.

Mako leans forward, "So you're saying that, who or what is on the surface is responsible for the disappearance of your team?" Mako sums it up. Amelia just nods at her, "Precisely." she answers. "Contact was lost after the team reported an energy source." Sato informs them, "Energy source? When we went to Geonosis, there was nothing. No signs of life or power." Hera informs them.

"Which is why Bail, Sato, and I have agreed to let you investigate the situation," Amelia informs them. "Your primary mission is to recover our people and any intel they gathered," Organa informs them. "Who is it we're looking for?" Hera asks them.

"Saw Gerrera," Rex calls out, the others turn and look at him. "Rex, you knew about this?" Kanan asks him. "Yeah, I did. I've known Saw a long time and I've learned when he's concerned about something, it's usually worth taking a closer look." Rex informs them.

"Because you fought alongside?" Mako asks, Rex just looks at him, "Something like that." he answers. "So, Saw is worried about what he found?" Ezra asks as he looks at his master. "He's worried about what we didn't find," Rex answers, crossing his arms. Worried Leo locks eyes with Mako as it was something to worry about.

The Ghost drops from hyperspace, heading towards the plant of Geonosis, "The construction modules and debris we saw last time. It's all gone." Hera spoke, chirping, Leto turns his head.

Leo leans next to her, "How s that even possible, this planet is supposed to be deserted, right?" he asks, Hera just shrugs, "Well, I'm picking up a power source on the surface right where command said it would be but I can't raise Saw on any channel. There's only static." Sabine informs them.

"There could be a storm interfering with the comms," Mako suggests. Kanan ponders for a moment. "Geonosians live underground. It's possible Saw and his people can't hear our transmissions." Kanan informs them. "Let's get down there and find out," Hera spoke.

Leto jumps on her shoulder, chirping in agreement. The Ghost flies right toward the surface of the planet.

But as soon as they were entering the atmosphere, the sandstorm was fierce and furious. "Hang on. This storm is wreaking havoc on my scopes. Chopper, stabilizers!" Hera calls out.
