You can't understand the Outer Banks without understanding the boneyard. It's kinda like a three-layer burrito. There's the pouges and their friends, the working-class derelicts.

Then, there are the Kooks, the rich second-homers. They're mostly from poncey-ass boarding schools, just rich trustafarian posers.

The Pouges natural enemies.

And then, there are the Tourons. Totally clueless. Here for a week on vacation with their families.

Chum for the sharks.

"So are you like full kook now or do you still hang out with the pogues?" The blonde boy asked looking at the brunette.

Scarlett was currently sitting in the Cameron's living room. Across from her was Topper Thornton.

Topper was your typical kook. He naturally thought he was better than everyone. He had the money, the perfect family, and the perfect girlfriend.

He felt like everyone owed him something. Scarlett wouldn't be surprised if Topper actually thought pogues were bred to mow lawns.

When Sarah mentioned to Scarlett that she was dating Topper she almost choked on her spit. To Scarlett, Topper did not seem like Sarah's type. He was far too uptight for the fun and adventurous girl.

But who was she to judge. Maybe Topper wasn't as much of a douche as she thought he was.

"Hello?" Topper exclaimed waving a hand in front of the girl's face. "Are you like deaf or something?"

"What?" She huffed looking up at him.

"I literally just asked you a question." Topper scoffed rolling his eyes.

Scarlett was going to kill Sarah for leaving her alone with the boy while she got changed for the party. She was majorly rethinking her life choices.

Scarlett wished she would have just met Sarah at the boneyard.

"I'm not deaf." The brunette finally replied. "And no I don't hangout with the pogues anymore."
