It was the day before the big storm was supposed to hit. Scarlett was feeling a bit nostalgic and decided that she wanted to go visit her old house before it was possibly ruined by the hurricane.
The girl knew that she couldn't drive herself there seeing as she had no license. So she was left with asking Robert the butler for a ride. The only problem with asking Robert was that he would tell her aunt.
Scarlett didn't want Mercedes to know. She knew her aunt would try and stop her. Ever since Scarlett had gotten back she hasn't been aloud to go anywhere near the cut.
Mercedes feared that her niece would become friends with the pogues again. She didn't need them corrupting her so she made a rule that Scarlett wasn't aloud on the cut.
"Robert please!" The teenager begged. "I promise I won't be there long. We could just do a drive by. I only want to see my old house."
"I don't know Miss Scarlett. I don't think your aunt will be happy about me taking you onto the cut."
"That's the thing Robert." Scarlett huffed annoyed. "We don't have to tell her. It can be our secret."
"Your aunt has a way of finding things out." The man mumbled thinking to himself.
"If Mercedes does find out I'll take the blame." Scarlett assured the man. She didn't want to get Robert in trouble but she was desperate to see her old home and maybe even her father's restaurant.
"Okay I'll take you." He sighed.
"Yes!" She exclaimed jumping up and down. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"But we must be quick. We can't stay long." Robert sighed looking at the girl seriously. "In and out."
"In and out." Scarlett nodded with a wide smile.

"It's that one!" Scarlett announced pointing towards the run down looking house at the end of the street.
She could feel her heart shattering as Robert pulled up in front of the once lively home. Scarlett was speechless as she looked at the decaying house. It looked completely different from the last time she saw it.
Robert tried to stop the brunette from getting out of the car but his attempts were useless. Scarlett slowly walked up to the front of the house taking in her surroundings.
Lillian's once beautiful garden was replaced by weeds and overgrown bushes that were practically crawling up the side of the house. The once vibrant yellow her father had painted the house was now worn down and dirty looking.
This was not the same house she grew up in.
Scarlett could only imagine the horror of what the inside looked like if the outside was this bad. All of her mother and father's hard work in making the house look as best as it possibly could was for nothing. The new owners clearly didn't care.
All of a sudden there was a loud bang from the porch which jolted the girl out of her thoughts. "The hell you think you're doing on my property?" A man with little to no hair in a ripped tank top yelled marching out onto the porch.
"I'm so sorry." Scarlett immediately apologized. "I just wanted to look at the house."
"Who the hell are you?" He shouted. "You the cops?"
"No! I'm not the police." She assured him. Scarlett could tell this guy wasn't friendly. "I used to live here. I just wanted to stop by and see my old place."
"Well here it is. Ain't much." The man scoffed looking her up and down. Scarlett didn't like the way he was greedily eyeing her body.
"I'll go now." The brunette announced. "Sorry if I bothered you."
The Campbell girl quickly turned and began walking back towards Robert who was patiently waiting inside the SUV.
"Hey girl!" The man startled Scarlett by grabbing her wrist and turning her towards him. She didn't know how he got so close to her so fast. "You tell that blonde punk to stay off my property too. Or the next time I see him I won't warn before I start shooting."
"Okay." She quickly replied nodding.
"Is there a problem here?" Robert asked from behind Scarlett. He had immediately gotten out of the car when he noticed the man next to Scarlett.
"Nah." The man shook his head. "Just telling the little lady here to have a nice ride home."
"Come along Scarlett." Robert eyed the man as he motioned for the teenager to come over to him.
Scarlett didn't have to be told twice. She awkwardly jerked her wrist from the man's grasp and hastily walked over to Robert.
"Are you alright Miss Scarlett?"
"Yeah." She mumbled holding her wrist to her chest. There was already a red mark appearing from how hard the man was holding onto her. "Can we go now?"
"Of course."
The whole journey home Scarlett's thoughts were filled with what the man said. Could the blonde boy that he was talking about be her old friend? If it was why would he go to her old house? He knew she had moved.
Scarlett didn't know what to think. All she did know was that after her encounter with the weird guy she needed a long nap. She had even almost fallen asleep on the ride home but she was jolted awake when Robert had suddenly swerved the car.
"Damn teenagers!" He cursed at a brown van flying past them down the rode. Scarlett realized that it was the same brown van that she had seen on her first day back.
She wondered who the people were in the van. It seemed like they would be fun to hang out with. Scarlett wondered if she could possibly become friends with them.
The only way she would be able to run into them would be if she spent time on the cut. And the problem with that idea was that she wasn't aloud to be on the cut.
