Chapter 14 The End/The Happiness

*Codie's Pov*

Mrs. Daniels looked at me then at Alec and then she looked at Nate. Then she spoke "Are you capable of taking care of him and doing your school work at the same time?" "I do it all the time at home." I said rudely. "Without any help?" She asked.

"Yes, Without any help. Because my mom gets drunk off her ass and my dad just sits there and waits for his turn to abuse me. I go through that pain and I get A's and B's. I also watch Nate through all of it." I said. Then I started crying. I laid Nate on the ground because he is still sleeping. Then I fall to the ground sobbing.

Then I heard something. It sounded like a herd of elephants. Then Mrs. Daniels opened the door. Next thing I heard was Hunter's mouth. Then she hugs me and she's saying It's Okay. It's Okay." She says while rocking me back and fourth. Once I finally recovered I got up. Then Alec left. Mrs. Daniels just looked at us. Then she lokked at me. "I'm sorry that all that has happened to you." She says.

I looked right into the eyes and said " No, your not. You have a perfect life. You had good grades, both parents you loved you, and you was living in a house. I am living in a damn trailer with drunk parents that abuse me. While I am trying to take care of a 1 year old thta is not even mine." I said very loudly.

Then Hunter tried claming me down but it didn't work.. "Well. Okay. I will write you two a excuse for all classes and anyother things. I assume that you will be with her all week and any other dad that she has Nate." She told us.

Then Hunter replied back "Yes. I am going to be with them at all times." Mrs. Daniels walked to her desk and write the not. "Keep this with you guys and just show them. Okay?" She said. "Okay." We both say in unison.

She hands Hunter the note. I pick up Nate and my bags. Hunter picks up her bags and my gym bag. "Have a wonderful day girls." Mrs. Daniels told us. Then we walked out I the office and out of the front office.

When we walked out if the office Alec was just standing there staring at the water fountain. When he saw us he walked over to us. He took my bag. "So.. Why did you leave in there?" Hunter asked him.

*Alec's Pov"

When Codie started talking to the principal. I was trying to find a way to break up with Hunter. I mean yeah we just started dating not to long ago but I somehow feel like I am the one who has caused everything. There is so much drama going on.

Hunter don't talk like they used to. That and I know a fake smile when I see one am Hunter always has one on. That's the one thing we have in common. I mean yeah she gets yelled by her dad a lot, and so do I.

But I may have to go back to my old school and I honestly don't want too. In fact I don't want to see any of there sorry asses ever again. I am happy here and I can tell that I am actually wanted. I can trust some people here like Huntet, Alli and Codie.

But when Hunter asked "Why I left." I had to come up with an excuse. I couldn't just tell them the truth. Not right now. Then I told them "I had to use the bathroom." "Smooth Alec Smooth." I thought to myself.

Hunter just nodded. But Codie kept staring at me. It's like she knew I was lying. Kinda as if she can see right through me. Then she started back walking. I followed them.

Then I began to do more thinking about how I am going to break up with her. I don't want to hurt her. I need to be gentle. I don't know how she will respond to that..

*Codie's Pov*

We was walking down the hall to our locker. When we got to our locker Nate woke up. I look over and I see Hunter pushing our locker neighbor because she needed more room. Alec just stood there laughing at her. I got my stuff and my gym bag and left it open so they could get there stuff. Then we was on our way to Homeroom. Everyone was in it. Even Alli.

I let the teacher see the note. He just nods his head. Then I turned around and everyone just looked at me. "So what? I have a 1 year with me today. Get over it." I said to all them. I then walked to my seat.

The bell rung which was 1st period. It was kinda funny. Nate kept making these noises in the middle of class and everyone began laughing. Even the Teacher. After our laugh we went straight back to business. I started on my homework.

Then the teacher took Nate back to his desk and he let him color. Then the bell rung shortly after. I gathered my stuff and went to get Nate. "Thank you for watching him." I said politely. "Your welcome. I know how it feels I have 2 boys at home. If you ever need me to watch him. Just bring him in down. I don't mind." He said. Then he said goodbye to Nate.

Then we was in our way to second period. I let the teacher see the note.. I guess she didn't believe me because she called down to the principals office to see if it was correct. She finally got off the phone and gave me a mean look.

She then began to go over what we was doing today. I out Nate between Alec and I in one of the chairs. Then Nate began to "Help" him with his homework. Then the stupid teacher came by and gave Nate a little piece of gum and gave me a nasty look. I was ready to jack slap that woman.
