The next day the two woke up ready to watch a lot of romantic movies. Unfortunately, things didn't go exactly as planned. Sam ended up having to visit some family and couldn't make it to their movie marathon. She still encouraged Joaquin to watch the movies without her and he did.

Needless to say, Sunday was an interesting day for Joaquin.

When Monday came he had some pages with some ideas written down on how to get Kim and Rodrick together. He waited excitedly for Sam to arrive so that he could tell her all about them.

Once he saw her he rushed over to her but paused when he saw Kim next to her. He knew then that he wouldn't be able to tell her about his ideas with the person who they involved right next to her. Whether he liked it or not, he had to wait.

"So how's it going?" Joaquin asked, trying to act as if everything was normal.

"I'm good," Sam told him.

"Me too," Kim added.

Joaquin nodded. "So how was your date, Kim?"

"It was alright." She told him.

"Just alright?" Sam asked. "Was it not good? Was he not a gentleman? Did he insult you?"

Kim laughed. "No nothing like that. I like him but I don't think it's going to work out."

"Why not?" Sam said.

"I just don't like him like that. And the whole time I was on the date I kept thinking about Rodrick." Kim explained.

"So you didn't kiss him?" Joaquin asked.

Sam glared at him and Kim shook her head. "No, I didn't kiss him."

"Interesting," Sam replied. "I would have thought you did."

"Why because that's what Rodrick told you?" She asked.

The couple didn't quite realize what Kim said until they repeated it a couple of times in their head. When it finally dawned on them they looked at her with large nervous eyes.

"No!" Sam said. "Rodrick didn't tell us anything. Why would he tell us anything? It's your date and he certainly wasn't there."

"I know you're lying," Kim said. "I saw you two and Rodrick following me around for the majority of the date."

"We would never!" Joaquin gasped overdramatically.

"And yet you did," Kim said. "Look I get it. You guys were worried about me. You wanted to make sure that you were there if I needed you."

"So you're not mad?" Sam asked.

"Mad? No." She reassured them. "I thought it was nice. A little creepy but nice. And I was glad when you guys stopped paying attention to me and had your own little date thing."

"You noticed that?" Joaquin asked.

"I noticed everything. I even noticed when Rodrick started to drift away from you two. Not that I blame him." Kim added.

"So how much did you see?" Sam asked.

"A lot. I saw him hanging out with Heather once or twice. I saw him running past me on his way out of the park. Don't know what that was about." Kim turned to her friends. "Do you?"

Sam and Joaquin quickly shook their heads. Kim shot them a suspicious glance but decided to let it slide.

"Well, I'm going to get my history book from my locker. I'll see you in class."

Joaquin and Sam said their goodbyes to her and watched as she left. Once she had left their sight Sam turned to Joaquin.

"So what have you come up with?"
