I woke up to my phone's alarm blaring. It was across the room on my desk so I rolled out of bed and turned it off before getting dressed up in my new clothes. I left my room to get breakfast and saw Erika in the kitchen making her own breakfast.

"Good morning Dan! How are you feeling about your first day of school here?" She cheerfully asked.

"Ecstatic." I sarcastically replied.

I poured myself a bowl of cereal and made a cup of coffee. I would've had some of the french toast Erika was making but I didn't want to wait around for it.

After having my food I put away my dishes and grabbed my backpack to leave.

"Do you remember your classes?" Erika asked when I was at the front door.

"I do, we went over them last night and you gave me the books you got from the school," I answered.

"Ok, I was just making sure you're ready. I don't want you messing up your first day at this school."

"I'm sure it'll be fine."

I grabbed the doorknob and she said, "One more thing before you go,"

I turned and saw her with her arms outstretched for a hug. I didn't really want to do that so I turned the doorknob and cracked the door open.

I looked back at her and her ears were drooped with a sad face. Guilt welled up in my chest so I walked over to her and hugged her. She hugged back for a few seconds before letting go.

Her face was full of joy after the hug, and she happily said, "Have a great day."

"You too," I replied while leaving the house and walking towards my high school.

The streets were quite lively with people driving to work or wherever they needed to go. There were both humans and anthros driving by, and just like Everett told me there were more anthros than humans.

One weird thing I noticed was a few trucks driving by with a bunch of planks in the back. I probably wouldn't have paid any mind to that if those trucks were together and moving in the same direction, but they weren't. They were going in different directions at different times.

Besides that, the walk to school was normal. When I arrived there were a bunch of people filing inside so I joined the crowd.

I saw a map of the school's layout and used that to find my first class of the day. My teacher was a female moose who was getting things at her desk organized.

I walked up to her and said, "I'm new here, where do I sit?"

She looked around and thought for a few moments before saying, "The desk to the right of Molly is free."

"Whos Molly?"

"The wolverine."

Looking over at the back of the class, I saw the wolverine she was talking about. Luckily, Ollie was seated in front of me.

I made my way over and sat down as the teacher asked students about their weekends. While talking, she reminded students that this would only be a two-day week here because of the town experiment starting Wednesday.

I was confused by this because I never heard about this happening. Before I could think more about that, Ollie asked, "How were things after you left?"

"Fine I guess. I got some new things from Erika including a phone, helped her make supper, ate with her, and that was about it. What happened after I left?"

"Everett and I hung out for a while before I went home and made myself supper."

"You cook for your family?"
