Steve scrambled up from where he was laying, though he felt a little dizzy by doing so. He used the wall to hold himself up as he stared at Eddie.

This time he got a really good look at him, his eyes were the same, his skin and hair were the same. But he had big ass... bat wings...

"You know Harrington, it makes me feel a little better knowing you kept my vest in a place you could see every time you went to sleep." Eddie said sitting completely up, but Steve wasn't as amused.

In fact he was two words away from an entire breakdown.

"What the fuck." He pressed his palms into his eyes and rubbed a little so that when he opened them there were black spots, and when he looked back up Eddie was still there. Though a hair closer.

Robin tried to support him slightly and move really slowly to the door of the room. Eddie was just grinning at them, there was absolutely no way they were getting out while he watched them like this. Steve broke free from Robins grasp and stormed towards Eddie, his hand in a accusatory jab at Eddie's chest.

"How. fucking. dare. you." Steve said between jabs, and Eddie's grin turned into a slight frown. He stared up at Steve's face, the crazed mess he looked like. Steve couldn't help himself, he was so undeniably angry at Eddie. He thought it was for what had just happened, but they both knew it was more.

"How dare I?" Eddie asked, his own face contorting into that of someone who is wildly deranged, his eyes wide and his teeth bared in anger. "How dare you?" He yelled as he jumped from the bed with lightning speed and pinned Steve against the wall, one hand one steve's neck and the other lingering near his face.

"You left me down there, you left me with nothing. I watched it, I fucking watched through someone's eyes that weren't my own as the people who dared to call themselves my friends walked away from me." Eddie growled soft and deep in his throat as he dragged a sharp claw across Steve's cheek and drew blood, causing steve to wince and suck in a breath through his teeth. Eddie swiped his tongue on Steve's cheek, catching the blood flow and... enjoying it?

"Eddie-" Steve whined as he pushed at Eddie's face, he had never whined like that before so it caught Eddie's attention. Eddie pulled his head back and gazed down at Steve's terrified and grief stricken face. Steve kept his hands on Eddie's face, one on each side, and let his own head fall to his chest.

His cheek was stinging slightly, but he knew what he had to do.

Steve wrapped his hands around the back of Eddie's neck, it was an intimate gesture as if to pull him into a kiss. And surprisingly, Eddie willed his new strength back and allowed Steve to pull him slightly closer, switching his hand from Steve's neck to the wall next to his head. Steve was staring into Eddie's, now wide with wonder, beautiful brown eyes. Steve had dreams about those eyes when the nightmares subsided.

Their noses were inches apart, Steve's breath was heavy and quick as his heartbeat sped up, and Eddie looked at him with a ravenous lust. "Eddie" Steve gasped, choking on his own words as he tried to hold back genuine tears. This made Eddie move down a little closer, their lips only a twitch apart, Eddie's free hand finding Steve's waist and holding on to him.

Then Steve drove Eddie's head down hard on his knee and yelled for Robin to run, which she did. And Steve was close behind her, he doubted the knee to the head really hurt Eddie on a physical level, but it sure as hell had to hurt on a phycological one. He knew because he was hurt emotionally- but he didn't have time to think about that he had to focus on getting out.

His suspicion was confirmed when they heard a scream from Eddie's room, it had so many emotions behind it that Steve had a hard time forcing himself to keep running.
