(A/N: sorry for the twister but this entire chapter is in Eddie's pov. I think it just makes a lot more sense that way. it's still third person tho. Also idk yet but i think the next few will be Eddie's pov too)
Eddie listened in to the phone, trying to understand the mess of scientific words and phrases Dustin was using. Eddie felt a small pressure in his mouth as his teeth stabbed his lip, he didn't even realized he had them pursed.
Steve must've noticed the look on his face and his unwillingness to interrupt the boy because he took the phone from Eddie and said in that snappy voice of his, "Henderson. I think we were both asleep in that class so I'm gonna need you to use english." Steve made eye contact with Eddie and grinned slightly, rolling his eyes.
"Ok nimrods." Dustin said, his voice laced with arrogance. Steve handed the phone back to Eddie but pressed his face against Eddie's to listen, and also to tease him.
Eddie didn't balk at that or anything, he smiled slightly as they listened to Dustin tell them his theory in understandable words.
"So, your body is constantly making new cells as old cells die, the demo-bat dna is only in a few of the nucleus' and clearly it isn't spreading or reproducing because you are losing your abilities. So that means that all the demo-bat dna infested cells will soon die off, but they are dying so slowly that your actual cells with the correct dna are able to reform in the place of those cells immediately." Dustin finished, almost proud of himself. But after a moment of silence from the Eddie's end they hear loud noises and then a different voice comes in. It's Robin.
"That means Eddie will live dinguses." She deadpans then hangs up.
"Holy shit." Eddie heard Steve say breathily, his hands on his knees as he takes deep breaths.
"What? Not pleased?" Eddie says jokingly as he strolls down the hallway and into his room. "How long to you plan on staying Harrington?" He calls from his room, hoping Steve can hear him down the hall at the phone. Eddie didn't really care wether he lived or died, so this news wasn't taking a toll on him like it was Steve.
Light thumps indiciate Steve is making his way slowly down the hall, then he pops his head into Eddie's room and looks around. "I'm going to head home to shower and change, but I'm coming right back here okay?" Steve says and Eddie watches as he hesitates to leave, so he beckons Steve forward.
"Kiss before you go?" Eddie murmurs with his low sexy voice, or at least he hopes that's how it sounds. He watches Steve roll his eyes slightly and laugh, but he makes his way over to the bed and leans down to peck Eddie on the lips.
Eddie growls softly as he grabs Steve's face and kisses him properly. Eddie runs his hands through the sides of Steve's hair, he can feel the other boy all but melt into his touch.
"Eddie." Steve breaths into his lips as Eddie lets him go.
"You are free to go your majesty." Eddie almost purrs as he stares into Steve's hazel eyes. He loved the way they weren't one color, just like how Steve wasn't just one way. Eddie would've never even dreamed about this two years ago. Not that he had King Steve Harrington by a leash, melting into his kisses and blushing at his teases. Eddie liked that, he liked that shit a lot more than how he was before.
"What are we?" Steve asked, he must've been thinking along similar lines to Eddie.
"We are..." Eddie made a show of thinking for a moment, his theatrics never ceased to put an end to too much tension. "Whatever you wants us to be. I am your humble servant sweetheart." Eddie kissed the back of Steve's hand and listened as his breath hitched slightly.
"Um... Well," Eddie could tell Steve was having a hard time, but that's all part of the process. "You see, I'm attracted to you. Obviously."
"And I you." Eddie said still holding Steve's hand.
