RECAP

“So?” he asked, “Well, would you rather go on the bike or my car?” I asked. He looked at me weird. “Um, aren’t you like under-age?” he asked looking confused. I sighed. “Long story short, my mum has enough money to bribe high people in society to let me have a real fake ID. It says that I am 18 years old, but it is real, just not the real date of birth. I guess you would rather go in the car?” I asked “Yeah, sure.” He said while looking confused. I thought Lochlan was an interesting person. I mean, every time I see him at school, he always seems happy and playful. Maybe the person I have to marry is really dull… I hope not.

Chapter 7

Ok. Bit of an issue. Lochlan and I are now dead silent driving into the city. I don’t even have the radio or any of my cd’s on. Dead silent. He keeps on checking my mirrors. Maybe he thinks that I shouldn’t be driving… stuff him. I have done tones of defensive driving courses and I have practically followed the normal road rules to getting a license. I have had 120 hours of practice driving in all conditions so *mentally sticks tongue out*. “Relax. I know what I am doing.” “Why do you always tell me to relax?” he suddenly asked, “Well, it is because you are always tense, well since the whole arranged marriage thing. Don’t get me wrong, you have the right to feel pissed, you weren’t part of the decision, but you’re parents had their reasons, along with my *sigh* mother.” “Why do you hate your mum so much? You always sigh when you talk about her? And was with you and your step dad the other day?” I sighed again.

“Best way to explain it is that I hate my mum. You know how she acted all proper and snobby, and well quite frankly rude and bitchy? Well, that is because she has forgotten a lot of stuff. Growing up, as kids, we used to live a pretty tough life. My dad was lazy and could never stick to the one job, my mum was weak, as in character and she never stood up for herself. Because my dad wasted all the money that he got, we used to have to skip meals, we could never cover bills on time, and it was just tough. One day my mum decided that she had put up with all she could and told my dad to get lost. Then things started to get worse. Without the small amount of cash that my dad would contribute, things got worse. This was when I was four. My dad decided he couldn’t handle us and signed off all custody rights to my mum.

After my parents split, the bills became harder to cover. We had to move into a tiny unit, two bedrooms and my mum had to take a second job. All the stress from not having enough money and my dad started to affect her. It started with theses tingles, eventually it lead to her having to be examined over it. That was when my mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It is a serious disease and can technically lead to death, although the official cause of death is organ failure, it is the fact that the messages aren’t getting through for the organs to work, but that is in the worst cases only. Because my mum was having a pretty bad episode, she got a disability pension as well as child support and the rest of the assistance she could get from the government. The MS made her realise how important life really is. So she decided that she would go back to school and learn how to design clothes properly; crafts, but particularly sewing had been my mum’s hobby for as long as she could remember.

She got discovered and was given a contract for a local bridal store. Things started getting better, then my mum started to become international. Because she had all this extra money she decided to help other people with MS and start a class action to allow CCSVI (A/N: CCSVI is a real medical trial that is not getting ANY media attention. Support CCSVI. Support something that ACTUALLY HELPS people with MS. PLEASE HELP AND SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS; IT MAY SURPRISE YOU HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED BY IT!). During this class action, she met Tim. He is a real asshole. Now they are married and my mum is snobby and pig-headed.” I said while pulling up out the front of my favorite café.
