Chapter 10
“Umm...” he said while rubbing the back of his neck. This was when I realised; he was only wearing his boxers to bed. I don’t mind. Honestly, I really don’t mind. But I should. Should I? I don’t really know… “I can sleep on the floor?” he asked, “No. Do you have like a pull out bed under your bed?” “No.” “We should have figured this out earlier when we were making the beds.” I said while pinching my forehead. It’s a stress thing. “So, I’ll sleep on the floor?” he said, but it sounded like a question. “Well… it’s not fair, I’ll sleep on the floor” I said with a sigh. “No, you’re the guest and a girl,” “I'm not kicking you out of your bed.” “Well…” “This is awkward.” I added. He looked down… “So we’re gonna share?” he asked. “It’s not like you’re a player or anything,” Yeah, not a player,” he mumbled. Ok. That was strange.
“Well, I’m gonna go get changed and get ready. Um. Is there a particular side you sleep on?” I asked looking at the bed. When we were making it, we were sort of lazy and just put the doona’s on top of each other and walked off. We literally chucked the pillows on the bed and walked off. Just cause I know how to clean doesn’t mean I like it.
Mark always used to make me clean my room. He never understood why I liked to have a messy room. To be honest, I can’t really explain it. I'm not sure if it is because everything was so clean everywhere else in the house, or it was because ‘I was a teenager and I simply had to have a messy room’ – as Lisa puts it.
“Not really, I normally sleep in the middle. But I suppose I’ll take the left” he said while looking at the bed too. I normally sleep in the middle too. I wonder, if a person has a double bed do they always sleep in the middle of the bed all the time? I might ask around, I don’t think that is something you can Google.
I walked over to my drawers and grabbed my pajamas and toiletries bag. While I was walking out of the room, Lochlan sat down on the bed and smiled at me; I smiled back and made my way to the bathroom in the dark. Do you know how hard it is to find the bathroom in the dark? Especially when you really have no clue where it is? Yeah, well, it’s really hard. The first door I opened was the laundry, second was the toilet. Third time lucky, the bathroom! I did my little celebratory dance. At least I didn’t open a bedroom door; that could have ended really awkwardly. Especially if it was Maria’s, Josh freaks me out a little; I mean why would he think that I was pregnant? Little too young, yeah I want a massive family, but I don’t want to start now.
After I brushed my teeth, hair and was changed, I made my way back to the bedroom, I suppose it’s our bedroom. This time, I opened the right door the first time, go me! I did my little celebratory dance again, but I didn’t realise that the lamp next to Lochlan’s head was on and that he was looking at me. “Do you have a normal bone in your body?” he asked me in an all seriousness tone. “Why, yes I do. I’m not sure which one it is though… maybe my funny bone? Or one of the bones in my wrist? They are really small, since I’m really weird.” I wonder what the name of the smallest bone in the human body is called and where it is located. I know, I’ll Google it. I picked up my phone from Lochlan’s bedside table. He only has the one bedside table, I suppose it makes sense though, and there is only one person that normally sleeps in his bed. I need to charge it. Funny, I thought I had it plugged in earlier on, meh. I must be going nuts. “What are you doing?” he asked while I plugged my phone back in and tried to load the internet.
“Googling the smallest bone in the body and its location, why?” he looked at me weird. I am really getting sick of these looks. I'm weird, why can’t you comprehend that?! “Why would you do that and now?” he asked while getting underneath the doonas. “Well, I thought that my normal bone would be in my wrist since there is little bones in there, then I wanted to know what the smallest bone is the human body is so I googled it, it is called the hammer and it is in your ear. So I can officially say that my normal bone is in my ear,” I said while checking that my alarm was set and putting my phone on standby. He shook his head and turned the lamp off. I just stared at him in the dark. “Are you gonna get in?” he asked. “I would, but I can’t see.” He sighed and sat up. “Sorry, he said sitting up and turning the lamp on. “Thank you,” I said while walking round to my side of the bed and climbed in. “We need another bedside table and lamp” I said while getting comfortable. He turned off the lamp, “Get one tomorrow then.” “I will. Night.” “Night.” He said before sighing and getting comfortable. I can hear this weird noise. I think Lochlan is snoring. Hehe. He snores. I got comfortable again and feel asleep. What? It’s not very often that I'm in a double bed with the guy I like ok? In fact I have never been in the same bed as the guy I like. Oh my god! I'm sharing a bed with Lochlan Jones! Mentally shake head, who knew I could be this girly, especially without assistance from Emma?
