Author's Note:

Yay! Chapter 80 already :O

Anyway, it's been ages since I posted a chapter that was only smut :D I think there wasn't even one in the second book – there had always been some other part of the story involved as well before. Well not here, not really :D Just maybe the beginning a little? It creates the setup ofc. Otherwise it's all just smut :D It's quite graphic, probably more so than lately, and very awful in my opinion :D I really wish I didn't have to edit the smut chapters for mistakes, because it just makes me self-conscious. But I'm determined not to let that get to me, so here it is. If you don't want to read the smut, you can just skip the chapter entirely if you don't want to read the setup either. Worst case scenario, you'll be a little confused about the setting at the beginning of the next chapter :) Also, there's a kink warning there at some point – as always marked with an asterisk where it starts and detailed in the note below the chapter, if you want to avoid it :) Other than that, enjoy the smut, I guess :D

And thank you all for reading and commenting and hopefully still enjoying ;)

Aeyrin let out a contented sigh as she nuzzled into Bishop's chest more firmly.

This time, it was just the two of them. They didn't even steal any food from the ball – it would be too impractical to carry it anyway. Bishop had his arms full carrying Aeyrin the whole way from their table. She didn't care about anyone's stares anymore. Her heel was broken after all and it was still snowing outside. She didn't want to go barefoot and trying to walk on uneven feet would take too long. It would have been time wasted that could be utilized on much more enjoyable things.

And besides, at least this way she wasn't cold in her dress. Bishop's body heat was better than any roaring fire.

He carried her across the streets covered in fresh snow, down the path leading through the noble district. There were no more lights in the windows and the only sounds echoing through the street were the voices coming from around the Palace – more stragglers lingering around the gardens before they went their own way again.

Aeyrin enjoyed being wrapped in Bishop's arms with a satisfied smile on her lips. He was right. Whatever was going on with Azshan and Gisli and Casavir wasn't important just then. They shouldn't ruin their evening with that mess. It could be dealt with another time.

Now, when she pushed all those worries to the back of her mind, everything was perfect.

Suddenly, Bishop stopped in his tracks. She readied herself to be adjusted in his grip again – he had to do that several times already lest she slipped from his arms, but this time, he actually started to slowly lower her back onto her feet.

She carefully balanced herself to prevent falling and she threw him a confused look.

"You think it's ready?" he smirked at her and inclined his head to the side. Only now she noticed where they stopped – right in front of their future mansion.

"Maybe it is," she snickered. But it didn't matter much anyway – they didn't have access to that place just yet. And as soon as they would, the housecarl would probably have access too.

"Well... only one way to find out," Bishop gave her a sly wink. What did he mean? How were they supposed to get inside?

He walked towards the door by the street and dropped down on one knee. His hand moved towards his boot and his fingers slipped inside the leather hem. In a few seconds, he fished out a familiar tool.

"You brought lockpicks?" Aeyrin giggled at him. She probably shouldn't have been surprised.

"Always, love," he smirked as he began to tinker with the lock.
