Chapter 8: Making amends with Cross.

It was around 9 AM as the sun rose into the sky in the background of Palmont City.

Cole was the first one to wake up as he rubbed his eyes open and stretched out his arms. He looked over towards Mia and attempted to wake her up, which suceeded as she purred and opened her eyes, she smiled warmly at Cole when she saw him next to her.

"Morning boo." Mia said.

"Morning babygirl. How did you sleep?" Cole asked.

"I slept great Cole, I'm always dreaming good as long as I'm next to you." Mia said.

Cole chuckled as he and Mia got out of the bed, afterwards. Cole got into a pair of clothes, they both had breakfast and afterwards, Cole explained to Mia that he was gonna try to make peace with Cross, in which she understood, Cole sent a text message to Cross on his phone to have a chat at the courthouse and drove off to downtown.

Cole arrived there to see that Cross had arrived first, he parked his M3 and got out of it. approaching Cross.

"Look I'm still working on trying to take out Razor, but I also found out who broke him out of Jail." Cole said.

“You mean someone helped him escape? Who would that be?” Cross asked.

"It was my egotistical cousin. Greg. He was the one who got you fired for the most part." Cole said sighing, as Cross's eyes went wide.

"Suddenly, everything makes more sense…“Y’know, a few weeks after you left Rockport, I received a recall from this Greg guy. Unbecoming conduct. Guess that’s what got me bailed out of the RPD, I thought about you right away, but then I remembered: you didn’t know where your cousin was at the time, did you?” Cross asked.

"No, I never even heard from him again until that very night I was forced to leave Palmont." Cole said.

“There’s one thing I don’t get, though… Why did Greg want me out of the RPD? Wouldn’t have it been way more convenient for him if I remained in Rockport?” Cross asked.

"If I'm being honest here, guess he was trying to get you mad at me and make you think I was the reason you got fired, which would've resulted you in wanting to chase me down. but, I do know how much that being a police officer meant to you...because of the bad kind of street racers out here." Cole said, Cross sighed at that.

"Yeah… First, I get fired, I scrape by as a bounty Hunter and I find you. Next thing I hear, Razor comes after you, and Mia shows up to try and save your ass, and now, the bastard responsible for all of this mess shows his face…” Cross said.

"I now know that I've gotta face him and the rest of stacked deck. Razor's even teamed up with him, in which I hate Razor in a blazing passion. Just like you do." Cole said.

"I know what this is all about. You want to bury the hatchet and ask for my help in taking out both Greg and Razor, don’t ya?"

"Well, I'm not exactly asking for your help, buy you did say that you would pay me back if I took them out...  I've gotta face 6 members of the crew, Darius, Razor, Greg, Angie, Kenji, And Wolff." Cole said.

"That’s crazy!" Cross said.

"I know." Cole said.
