People are prone to misbehave, but we must push through and if we do, we will be forever safe. - Volumes of Protection
After we kiss and say goodbye, I head home on my skateboard. All the way there I keep thinking this is crazy, it has to be our little secret. If anybody found out, who knows what trouble I would be in.
When I get home, I check my phone. It's nearly 4:00! I pray that my mom's not up yet. I'm prepared with a lie anyway.
I sneak back in like a dormouse. Thank goodness mom hasn't woken up yet. I quietly slide into bed. I pretend the covers are Neal's arms, covering me while I'm falling into a deep sleep.

BEEP. BEEP. I nearly fall out of bed when I hear my alarm. I can barely think straight. All of a sudden, memories are flooding back to me. The beach, the excitement, Neal. I about slam into my drawers because I'm in such a rave! I can't believe I was so stupid! I should have never accepted the dare! While half of me is raging, the other half is rejoicing. I know it's dumb, but the fact that he likes me, makes me feel like I'm on a sugar high. I waver down the stairs and stare at the breakfast on my plate. Eggs, bacon, grits and sausage. My favorite, but not today. I can barely even breath, let alone eat. What I've always done is plan ahead, but now, because of Neal, I have learned to live in the moment and not worry about the next.
Today I have a soccer game and I am filled with terror of looking stupid. I feel like I won't make any goals. I don't have to worry about that until later anyway. The whole day seemed to go by so fast. Soon enough it was time for my game.
"Boys, Neal will be coming today to babysit and I don't want you causing any trouble, okay?" my mom shouts. Neal? Great, now he will be with me again, and in front of my family.
In about an hour later, a black Honda Accord pulls up. That's Neal's car and it's time for my game.I run upstairs the second I hear a knock. I must not be fast enough because my mom calls for me to get the door. I casually walk back to the door and carefully turn the knob to let Neal in. He must not see me because he bumps into my shoulder then apologizes.
"Hey Anna." he states.
"Hi." I spurt.
"Okay Anna, time to go!" Mom yells to me.
"Bye." Neal calls to me on the way out. I shoot him my be careful look.
I get into the car and we pull away. On the car ride there I notice something in my pocket: a note.
