"Freedom is the purest form of happiness, and with a slight twist of pride." - Leader of the Renegades

10:25. 11:31. 12:45. I'm slowing waiting for the designated time to leave and with every minute that passes, a wave of anxiousness passes over me.
"Can't we go already" I ask whiningly. I look over at Aaron with a smug face.
"Be my guest, just don't be blaming me on your execution day." Aaron states bluntly. What a smart-alec, I think, but still grinning at the fact that it reminds me of myself. It seems that the more I get to know Aaron the less scary he gets. Although I've been avoiding talking about Anna around him the occasional questions get asked. It's kind of awkward because I can't help thinking it was all my fault and just because I was so attracted by the stubborn and cute personality of this girl I just met.
"Okay, we leave in 5, you know the plan right?" Aaron says interrupting my thoughts.
"Er.. Um sure.." I wish I could talk as smooth around Aaron as I do around Anna, nice first impression, Neal. (Note the sarcasm)
"Really? I thought I made it clear?" He says annoyed. "Whatever, we are going to leave at 1:15, split at the prison entrance, to avert forces and meet up back at the mine entrance, okay?"
I silently agree. Why does escaping have to be so complicated?
----
"Ready?" He asks breaking the 5 minutes of silence.
"Yeah, let's escape this crap hole." I reply.
Aaron starts by hijacking the entrance pad with just his bare hands. I stand in astonishment. Reading my thoughts he replies, "I was part of a Rebel Group, remember?"
What type of training do they receive?, I wonder. Anyway, once Aaron checks to see if any guards are in the hall he shows the clear sign... Or maybe the stop sign... No, definitely the clear sign because he starts to wave for me to follow. I'm usually pretty brave, but right now I'm shaking in my boots. I'm traveling with a convicted criminal, while escaping from a mine prison, with NO weapons. Personally, the dry serene of my prison cell would do quite nicely right now. No, I need to do this, I need to do this for Anna. I keep walking, now with more jump in my step.
"Okay, Ready to split up?" Aaron states with a pang of worry in his voice. I just grimace and turn away not knowing what will come, but determined to do it for Anna anyway.
I start by going over the instructions  Aaron gave me in my head. Take a left pass the North hall, the. Be careful of guards when taking a right pass the cafeteria, keep going straight until you see the boarding area and wait behind the automobile garage. That doesn't seem to hard right? Maybe if your James Bond. Anyway, I start to pace down the East Corridor, my heart synchronising with my every step, I turn onto the North hall and turn again while steadily pacing with confidence right past the cafeteria filled with guards. Woah, give me a brain and some lightning, because I'm alive again. Did I really just use a Frankenstein reference? Interrupting my terrible jokes, two loud voices burst across the corridors.
"Halt." A gristly voice says. I look around to find the halls around me completely empty. Suddenly I hear a sharp, deep yelp. Aaron.
