In the end, the good are promised everything, and the evil are promised nothing. You must struggle to be the person society says for you to be. - The Book of Well-Being

I uncrumple the note and read,

3:30 am, Wednesday, you know where.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe he took the risk of giving me a note in front of my family! Now he is really taking it to far. I mean not only did he get me into this mess, but for right now there is no way out of it. Although the skeptical
part of me agrees, I can't help the feeling that going to the beach five weeks ago was the best day of my life.

Suddenly a thought hits me a train. What if the bondsmen (The Gaurdian's slaves) saw Neal and my tracker devices and paired then up? That would mean they would know we have been together. I need to warn Neal, which means I have to go to that secret and mysterious meeting. One half of my is drowning with fear while the other is floating on the sea of doubt with a boat of joy. Clouds are starting to form in the sky. Please be rained out, I pray. I can't afford another terrible game, especially with all the worries on my mind.

...

Finally Wednesday arrives. As I stuble out of bed I notice a unfamiliar sound coming from downstairs. As a creep down the rickety stair case I see two bondsmen searching through our kitchen. Killed with shock I sneak back upstairs. And as gentle as a feather I crall out my two story window. It's about 3 in the morning and the sun hasn't breaked, so it takes me a second to find my skateboard. Abruptly, I hear a man shout in a low course voice, "Sir, I found the fugitive's room." Fugitive? Oh no, this can't be happening. I have to warn Neal.

All I can think about now is my skateboard flying through the air, steadly getting closer and closer to the beach and Neal.
