"Sunna bhai, ye Amit ka kya scene hai? Saale ko lagatar do chhuttiyan dedi tune? Maine kya bigada hai tera?!" Harry casually barged into his friend's cabin.
"Aise kaise tune uski leave approve kardi?! I didn't know, you were such a partial bitch!" He added.
"Actually uske ghar me ek emergency thi, uski wife ki tabiyat theek nahi hai. Uske kutte ka birthday hota toh nahi milti chhuti." Sidharth replied with a sarcastic smile.
"Aye! I'm warning you. Mere Ghanshyam ko kutta mat bula aur ye chhuti wali baat na mere dil pe lagi hai. Yaad rakhunga mai!" His friend retorted.
"Thik hai Hariprasad Sharma aur kuch?" Sidharth replied and laughed when his friend inked up his middle finger before storming out of the cabin.
Their company, Mobitechtron, was one of the new brands of Android based smartphone accessories developed by a manufacturer based in Mumbai, India and established by Sidharth's father, Ashok Shukla sir. Talking about the two boys, Sidharth and Hariprasad a.k.a. Harry from being interns in training to joining the office and working, they had learnt everything together. The two men had grown closer and became good friends since the past five years in the office. It was after Ashok sir's demise that his son had taken over as the CEO in the company and managed to stay put in the competitive industry.
However, it wasn't as easy as it looked. The latest products launched by Mobitechtron under one of its Chroma editions of smartphone power banks came out to be a complete failure. A power bank was supposed to be affordable, reusable, fast charging and easily portable. Despite being everything, their product could not establish itself in the market and compete with the others. Not being able to find out what went wrong in the procedure, Mobitechtron had faced pretty good losses and wasn't able to pay back its investors. And Sidharth couldn't fathom the sequential losses.
He questioned himself if they were not prepared well enough even after a year long planning? He didn't know, maybe he'd never know but one thing was for sure, when he faced his failure during those days he got to know how terrible the feeling was. There was an unknown heavyweight on his chest the entire time, knowing that all the hard work didn't workout properly. When people looked up at him disappointed and started believing that he wasn't as capable as his father was, somehow making him doubt himself. It felt like things were slipping away from his hands, he was losing his respect among his own people. He became a matter of talk for the people around him, some talked about this unsuccessful venture, some compared him with his father while some gossiped about his personal life where his girlfriend had recently broken up with him. Voices from the most unknown people reached his ears and it resonated, making him feel the worse. Nevertheless, some people appear much more able to pull themselves up and dust themselves down after these ordeals than others. In our high-achieving community, disappointment was frequently seen as a terrible circumstance that one could confront.
Rather than adopting downfall as a learning and development opportunity, those who failed in some aspect of their existence often saw it as an enduring obstacle, telling them that they are not eligible for surviving their shortcomings. And Sidharth was such a person, how hard he pretended to turn his ears deaf to those gossips, he was affected every time inside.
"Sab thik ho jayega baccha! Ups and downs are always going to be a part of life. When things don't happen the way you want them to, that doesn't mean you lack the ability. You can set everything right, again. Bas mehnat karte ja tu, tere Papa ne tujhe sab sikhaya hai. Aisi koi cheez nahi hai jo tu hasil nahi kar sakta, thoda time lagega aur jitna time lagega, samajh jana utna hi acha acha hone vala hai." He used to recall his mother's words every time he felt low. She not only motivated him to get back to work with all his knowledge and energy but also made him believe that he had the potential to set everything right back again.
