It had been two weeks since Harper last spoke to Enoch. She only saw him during meal times since he always hid out in his room.

That's probably her fault.

It'd been ages. She was done waiting for him to stop being a stubborn arsehole and just speak to her.

"You haven't apologised to Enoch today." Said Emma.

Every day since she'd always apologise.
"What's the point? It's not like he'd ever forgive me." Harper spat. She didn't mean to be rude; she was just pissed off.

Emma nodded in pity. "Enoch's stubborn. He'll give in soon enough." She placed her hand on the girl's shoulder before walking away.

"Harper."
Miss Peregrine approached the girl.
"Hmm?" Harper raised an eyebrow.
"I'm running low on some supplies for supper. Could you run to the shops and pick me up what I need?" The lady asked.

Harper gave a nod.
Miss Peregrine began to write down a list of foods.
"There you are..." She trailed off and began to think.
Her face brightened up as she looked to the stairs.

"Enoch can join you. Then I can quickly put on supper!" Miss Peregrine smiled.

"Join her for what?" Enoch asked, looking at the girls.
"Not her, Harper." The lady tutted and corrected.
"Join Harper for what?" He again asked.
"A trip to the shop." Miss Peregrine began to push them outside.

"Hurry on then!"

The two trailed along the pathway. It was filled with stones and bricks. They hadn't uttered a word to each other.

They shared sneaky glances at each other, but quickly looked away as they were almost caught numerous times.

Enoch sighed before clearing his throat.
"You haven't apologised today."
His eyebrows were arched in a confused manner, but his voice kept emotionless.

"What's the point? It's not like you're ever gonna accept it." Harper shrugged. Her tone was in-between the emotions of sadness and defeat.

"How would you know?" He hissed.
Harper scoffed.
"Try to keep your composure, Enoch." The girl sped ahead, Enoch following.

"I seriously didn't mean to call you desperate." She admitted again. "Then why did you?" They were finally at the same pace again.

"Got nervous." She looks down embarrassed.
"Nervous of what?"
The girl contemplated whether to tell him or not.
"Rory seen something she shouldn't have, then she just spoke about you and found out somethings. I just got worried and lied."

"What'd she see? Us kissing? That's honestly not that bad, Harper." Enoch held open the shop door for her and then walked in himself.

Harper shook her head.
The boy seemed to be intrigued now. "Tell me what she saw."

"My neck." Harper muttered as quiet as she could.
"What about your neck?"
"Doesn't matter, Enoch." She began to grab the supplies that were requested.
