"Are you sure we're at the right place?" you asked Yennefer as you looked around. "This doesn't look like a hideout."
"Hideouts aren't like they are in your books, Y/N. The best hideout is seen, but hidden. Less suspicious that way." She smiled at you and crossed her arms as the man in front of you glanced at you.
"Sandpiper will show you the way, I'm reserving places for you. Go inside and make yourself comfortable while waiting. He's performing at the tavern area, grab yourself a drink and sit down."
"Performing?" Yennefer asked and frowned as she took a few steps forward, listening to the music echoing from behind the door. A slow smile spread on her face and you cocked an eyebrow in question. "I think I know him."
You broke into a smile yourself. "Okay, well in that case he's going to help us for sure." You noticed an amused smirk on Yennefer's face and sighed. "What?"
"He pretty much hated me, so I wouldn't count on that. But he's too good-hearted to leave us in trouble in any case." she told you and opened the door, the music filling your ears as you saw this Sandpiper twirling around with a lute and singing his heart out. You smiled at the music, it sounded beautiful.
The song ended and people started getting out when you and Yennefer approached him.
"Oh, no. You again, witch." he said flatly as he watched Yennefer approach him. His eyes glanced at you too, but returned to Yennefer in the next moment. "If you're going to come to bully me again, I'll—"
He was cut off when Yennefer hugged him, and his eyes widened and sputtered out "We are hugging?"
"Oh, I miss the time when my biggest problem was an annoying bard." She replied, pulling back from him. He frowned at her and Yennefer gestured to you. "Jaskier, this is Y/N."
You nodded politely at the man and he blinked as he looked at you. You almost saw Yennefer smirk at his expression.
"O-okay, hello. Um, why are you here if you're not here to bully me?"
"We need your help," you told him. "We were told you're helping elves to get somewhere we need to go."
"And where is that, exactly?" he asked.
"Cintra."
"Oh, well. I might be able to help you. I just hope you aren't playing any tricks on me, I had a fair share of them when we last met with your friend here."
"The time for tricks is over, Jaskier." Yennefer said and sighed. "We need to get to Cintra and fast."
Jaskier frowned and looked at you again. You nodded, and he sighed. "Alright. Come here, I'll tell you about what we need to do."
