Still in a daze from the interaction with Billy, you walked out of the mall with bags filled with an assortment of items. Home decor, clothes, snacks, and a variety of drinks were among the assortment. The sound of cars running, people chatting, and footsteps all around, drowned out most of your thoughts. You were thankful for this because it meant you didn't have to think about what had happened about 30 minutes ago. After a moment of taking in the sounds, you began to walk out into the parking lot, shifting your arms around to make sure the bags lining your arms wouldn't fall. Finally, you made it to your car without dropping a single bag, but you realized that your keys are still in your left-side pocket and you are most definitely not going to be able to get them with your arms trapped under the bags. Somehow, as if your struggling magically summoned him, Billy walked up behind you with a shit eating grin on his face. "Looks like you're having a tough time. Need help, princess?" Shivers went down your spine as you realize he had taken the opportunity to get behind you, hands resting on your upper arms, and back nearly pressed against his chest, as he spoke into your ear. His tone was no help. The combination of his actions and tone shook you to your core.
"First of all, get the fuck off of me. Second of all, yes actually, I do need help. I can't get my fucking keys out of my pocket like this." As you spoke you shifted your arms around in attempt to shake him off but his hands stayed exactly where they were for the moment. "Well now, that does sound like a problem, doesn't it?" He gave a low chuckle in response to his own comment as you let out an exhauster-bated sigh and hung your head down.
"Aw, poor thing. Not much I can do if you don't ask for my help." As he spoke he finally removed his hands from your arms and stepped to the side to lean on the back of your car. You lifted your head to see him still smiling and you rolled your eyes. "Billy, seriously?" He shook his head and lifted his hands as if surrendering. "Like I said, nothing I can do if you don't ask, babydoll." As the words came out of his mouth you dropped your head once more. "God fucking dammit Hargrove." You mumbled to yourself before finally accepting defeat and lifting your head to meet his gaze once again. "Billy, will you help me out?"
"You gotta ask nicely."
"Ask nicely?! What the fuck do you mean—" you stop yourself as you see him already preparing some smart remark to fire back at you. "Fuck it! Fine! Billy, will you please help me?" He looked pleased with himself when you said those words and he lifted himself off of your car. "Atta girl." He commented before taking all of the bags from your left arm so you could grab your keys.
Without saying another word to him, you unlock the car, pull open the back passenger side door, and start shoving your bags inside. As you did so, you heard footsteps moving to your side and felt eyes on you as you were bent over. You immediately knew they were Billy's and gave a frustrated sigh as you stood straight up. "Perv." You muttered as you glared up at him and took the bags from him to put them in your car as well. Billy merely laughed at your reaction as he watched you shove the last of the bags into the car.
"Well I'm just gonna go now." You tried to push past Billy to shut your car door and get in the driver side but he kept you from doing so. "I didn't hear a thank you." He said as his expression went stern along with his tone. "Billy, just let me—" you stopped quickly when he grabbed your wrist and narrowed his gaze at you. Shock filled your body once again as your face went bright red. "I said, I didn't hear a thank you." He repeated as your eyes widened. You glanced down at the hand that was holding your wrist then back up at his expression. You cleared your throat to gain your composure and drew in a deep breath. "Yeah, yeah, whatever, thank you, Billy. Can I go now?" You said quickly, hoping to cover the nervousness and slight embarrassment in your tone. Almost as quickly as his expression went stern it contorted back into a devilish smile. "Good girl." He teased before simply walking away just as he had done before.
You were once again dumbfounded by what had just happened and it took you a couple moments of standing there to process what just went down. You shook your head to get out of your thoughts then slammed the door shut and moved to the driver side. As soon as your door opened, you slipped inside, slammed the door shut, and started the car. "What the fuck just happened?" You thought aloud to yourself as you let your hands fall to your lap and your head press back into your seat.
