Whistling woke up Zoe, Lulu and Seth.
"What are you doing?" Yelled a half awake Seth.
"Your burning daylight, move!" Shane replied.
"It's Sunday. And it's six am!" Seth realised the time. "Your insane," Seth tried to hide under his duvet, only for his bed to be flipped over.

Downstairs all the Plummer children were listening to Shane as they ate the breakfast that Kat had made.
"Listen up! Your behaviour is unacceptable" Shane eyed Zoe, remembering last night and how she had treated Kat. "In order to maintain a state of safety, we need to maintain a state of order." Getting distracted by Helga feeding Tyler he got their attention. "Now I've only got one rule. Everything is done my way, no highway option. Do you copy?"
"Do you copy?" Lulu mimicked.
"What? I said do you copy?"
"What? I said do you copy?"
"Do not copy me."
"Do not copy me."
"Hey, I mean it, cut it out!"
"Hey, I mean it, cut it out!"
"Lulu," Kat murmured from beside her sister, getting the younger girl's attention she shook her head as an indication to stop. Lulu sighed and nodded pouting slightly.
"Everybody up!" Shane shouted before Zoe or Seth could make a comment to upset Kat.

The family all stood in a line eldest to youngest with Kat holding baby Tyler and except Seth who had gone upstairs to the toilet.
"Tracking devices. Never take 'em off. The panic button is for emergencies only! Touch that you better be dying. Or your dead." Shane went quieter when clicking on Katherine's and Tyler's bracelets.
"I would rather chew off my arm, than wear that. Just because my Mom is paranoid doesn't mean that we have to take orders from you," Zoe scoffed.
"Let me explain to you how the chain of command works. I tell you to do something. And you do it! End of chain," He yelled in the teen girl's face. Clicking on the bracelet while she was still in her shock.
"I'm not gonna have time to remember all your names," Shane saw Kat deflate at his statement, and he immediately wanted to go over and hug her. "Kat, Red 1. Baby, Red baby. Female teen, Red 2. Older male Red- Where's the older male?" He asked looking at the line of kids.
"He walks like Dracula, with footsteps silent like death," spoke Helga from the table as she cleaned the breakfast dishes.
"He went to the bathroom," spoke Kat, before the tensed Shane could rush off and do something drastic. At that moment Seth came down and Shane immediately clicked a bracelet on his wrist.
"Older male, Red 3. Young girl, Red 4. And small child, Red 5."

Everyone was dismissed, the small meeting over. Kat got dressed into a yellow top and skinny jeans.

When she came back downstairs, she saw Shane doing one armed pushups in the family room

When she came back downstairs, she saw Shane doing one armed pushups in the family room. Watching him, she couldn't help but think about how good he looked. A scream from upstairs broke Kat from her trance and Shane leapt up to see if there was any danger. Grumbling in annoyance, Kat proceeded with the chores for the day.

"Hey! You leave towel on floor in the bathroom. I pick up after kids not you," Helga complained at Shane. Kat giggled as he just walked away and took the washing basket from Helga, and then went to go downstairs but fell.
Zoe and Seth smirked at what they had unintentionally caused, but it fell as soon as they saw Shane looking over the banister at Kat.
"Kat?" Shane asked and went down the stairs through the kitchen. He cupped the girl's face in his hands as he saw the tears that had started to well up. "Are you okay?" He questioned gently.
Zoe and Seth quietly crept away, not wanting to get caught.
"I'm fine," she sniffed answering the question. "It's not like this is anything new," she sighed before picking up the dirty clothes that had fallen around her and used her hair as a curtain around her face.
"Hey," Shane grabbed the female's arm. "Look at me." Kat looked up at Shane and what he saw made his heart hurt. Kat's lower lip was trembling and a few tears escaped her eyes. "Oh Rin. Are you okay?" Shane asked once again, only receiving a sob from Kat before she threw herself into his arms for comfort.
Holding the girl tightly, Shane managed to change her position and stood up so that he was carrying her bridal style. Kat noticed the difference and held on tighter to the comforting male, burying her face further into his neck as she let herself cry.

A few hours later, Helga came downstairs carrying a suitcase and moved to see where Shane and her favourite Plummer child were. Spotting Shane in the family room, she entered and her heart melted. As Shane was on his computer, Kat lay curled up next to him while he stroked her hair; it was the most peaceful that Helga had ever seen Kat and she smiled at the young adults.
"Lieutenant," Helga called softly. "I'm leaving. I quit."
"No, no, no. You can't quit," Shane quickly said gently moving Kat so he didn't disturb her. "I don't even know how to change a diaper and Rin does so much already."
Helga just shook her head, "I'm too old. You need to learn and Kat needs you. She needs a friend, she hasn't had one in a while. She also does too much because I can't do it. You need to help her and learn," Helga said before rushing out the door before she could be stopped.

The phone then began to ring, which made Kat stir from her slumber. Shane quickly answered it before Kat could wake up entirely.
"Hello? Lieutenant Wolfe. It's Julie Plummer."
"Oh hi Mrs Plummer, I found the culprit who was sneaking around your house."
"Great. Who was it?"
"Just some teenager."
"I wanted to tell you that I'll be a few more days."
"Your gonna be a few more days?"
"Yeah. Is that a problem?"
"No. No problem, that's fine. I'm just doing my duty."
"And you're sure everything is okay?"
"Things are great Mrs Plummer, Helga quit, but you just do whatever you've gotta do. I've got everything handled."
"That's a shame, but okay. Well good luck bye."
"Bye Mrs Plummer," Shane hung up the phone and sighed. He would have to learn so many different types of things.

After Kat had woken up everyone was gathered in the family room.
"Okay everyone, listen up," Shane said entering through the doorway. "There's been a change of plans. Your mother isn't coming home as soon as she expected."
"When is she coming back?" Lulu asked frowning.
"Soon," Shane answered. "And now we'll just have some more big fun."
"That's what we've been doing? Having fun?"
"Tomorrow's a school day," complained Lulu.
"I have wrestling practice," sighed Seth.
"I need a signed release for drivers ed," Zoe said standing up.
"I've got fireflies," whined Lulu.
The two younger females then began to speak over one another about the next day as Shane picked up Tyler from his cot.
"Woah! Okay. Halt. We'll take this hill one inch at a time. Only then can we rise to the challenge." Tyler then took that moment to have a poo and everyone in the room except Shane, Tyler and Kat fled.

"Can you?" Shane gestured to Tyler as he looked at Kat. The girl nodded and grabbed her baby brother, but before Shane could leave as well she grabbed one of his arms.
"I'll teach you. I can't always do his diapers," Kat said, making him remember Helga's words to him before she left and just nodded.
The two adults stood in Peter and Tyler's room, Kat changing Tyler while Shane watched from behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist. Finishing the job, Kat picked her brother up and cooed at him moving out of Shane's arms to put Tyler in his play pen.
"You can do the next one okay?" Kat said smiling at Shane, the man just nodded lost in thought about her.

Shane was shutting all the curtains and blinds as everyone got ready to go to bed when Lulu approached him.
"Hi. Zoe says you look like the hulk. I think your cute. And I think that Kat thinks your cute too."
"Thank you" Shane hesitantly replied.
"Do you do Kung-fu?"
"Yes."
"Have you ever punched someone so hard that their head came off?"
"No."
"Why are your boobs so big?" Shane stopped at this question making Lulu pause in following him too. "They're not boobs," he said facing Lulu.
"Do you have to wear a bra?" She questioned. Shane turned around again at this question.
"So will my boobs get as big as yours someday? Or will they be as big as Kat's?"
Shane turned to look at the girl as she said this, he thought about how large Kat's boobs were and quickly dismissed the thought. "You know little girl, I think it's time you went nappy-poo in beddy-bye land," he said crouching down to her height.
"Do I look like I'm five to you?" Lulu scoffed walking away to her room. Shane was confused at her reaction not seeing what he said wrong.
"Disrespectful. And to think I was interested in you," Lulu then slammed the door.

"What was that about?" Kat asked leaning on the doorway looking at Shane. He stood up quickly and schooled his face.
"She was asking whether her boobs would grow as big as mine or yours." Kat stifled her laughter.
"I hope it was enlightening enough for you," she said cheekily, smiling at the annoyed man. Shane just grumbled incoherently but stopped when Kat kissed his cheek.
"Good night," she said before leaving to her room.

Shane stared at where Kat had previously been in a daze, not realising he had bought his hand up to his cheek and was smiling. Shaking his head Shane went to bed in order to be ready for the next day.
