Once I stepped through the entrance, there were no people in the shop except Amari and some tall man who seemed to be angry at her. Both of them were arguing loudly and clearly irritated and neither of them noticed me walking into the shop right before they started yelling at each other.

- "I'm sick and tired of being treated like this, Alain! What makes you think that I should just blindly agree to everything?!"

Amari raised her voice and the man sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose.

- "Stop being so stubborn! Can't you just listen for once?!"

He shouted back angrily.

Amari scoffed and turned to face him with a scowl on her face.

- "I'm trying to listen, you asshole! But why the fuck would I even listen to something that is coming from you?!"

She exclaimed exasperatedly.

The man groaned audibly and shook his head.

- "You're still acting this damn way? After I went above and beyond for you?! When did you turn into such a selfish bitch?"

I felt my blood boil hearing someone speak badly about her in front of me. Before I could even react, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him with a sudden force. Amari yelped and tried to pull herself out of his grip. However, he tightened his grip and she couldn't manage to break away.

- "What are you doing?! Let her go!"

I screamed desperately and ran towards them. As I approached, my anger began increasing and I clenched my fist tightly. He saw me approaching and let go of Amari roughly, taking a step back.

Amari stood frozen in place with wide, shocked eyes staring at me, completely taken aback by my sudden appearance. I stopped directly in front of her and took her face in my hands, inspecting every single detail of it and making sure that she wasn't hurt. I brushed my thumb over her cheeks softly and frowned when I felt tears brimming in her eyes.

- "Are you okay?"

I asked worriedly, searching for any signs of injury.

- "Amari, who is this girl? Why is she touching your face?"

The man spat out furiously and Amari gasped shakily.

- "Leave me alone, Alain. You can talk to me another time."

She told him coldly and he rolled his eyes.

- "Yeah, whatever, don't act like you don't enjoy her touch."

Alain snarled. His glare turned icy, his gaze fixed intensely on me, and I flinched involuntarily. He stalked forward until he was close enough to tower over me and I took half a step back instinctively. He glared menacingly down at me and spoke in a harsh voice.

- "Who the hell are you?! I've never seen you before!"

He pointed aggressively at my chest accusingly and narrowed his eyes. I gulped and avoided his glance. I couldn't tell if I was more intimidated or angry at him at that point. He was a stranger but at the same time, I knew what kind of person he truly is. If he really wants answers, then he needs to learn some patience.

- "It's not important who I am."

I replied calmly. I kept my gaze on the ground so he wouldn't see the fear in my eyes. He sneered slightly at my reply.

- "How about it, princess? Who is she to you?"

He pressed on aggressively. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes shut, trying to calm myself down.
