Blaise POV
I watched my little brother lead the two red heads out of the room with a sense of apprehension. If they hurt him....
I know Barrett is more than capable of taking care of himself. Honestly I do, but I just got him back so excuse me for being worried. Still I didn't stop him from leaving, which I thought was commendable. I could tell how important they were to Barrett and I wasn't going to mess that up by being an overbearing big brother.
Brielle snorted on her end of the triplet bond and said, "Your only the oldest by forty five seconds. Get off your high horse." I was impressed that she could speak through the bond while paying complete attention to the conversation at hand. I honestly had completely stopped paying attention when the conversation had moved away from Zabini manor.
"Blaise your projecting your thoughts," Brielle kindly informed me, "it's annoying. Do try to better control what you share."
I internally rolled my eyes, "I'm sorry sister dear but for the last fourteen years I've completely ignored the bond because it was severed. It's a relief to know it's actually still there. But if you think it's better that I go back to ignoring it..." I deliberately shared along the connection.
"I can't decide if that was nice, or incredibly rude," Brielle shot back as she asked about Joshua's fiancé. "I wonder how Dumbledore severed the bond... it must have been a really difficult piece of magic."
"Brielle dear your projecting your thoughts," I thought laughingly.
"At least I'm not-"
"Could you both stop!" Barrett suddenly interrupted. "I'm trying to have a serious conversation!"
"With Fred and George?" Brielle asked, though we both knew the answer. "Good luck with that." There was no response.
I really wanted to hear what was being said in that conversation.... I knew that if I just followed the connection down to Barrett's end I would be able to hear every-
"Ow! Brielle what was that for!" I exclaimed when Brielle hit me with a stinging hex. Mum and Mrs. Malfoy looked at me weirdly while Joshua and Draco both tried to hide their laughter.
"You know exactly what it was for," Brielle stated as she re-pocketed her wand.
"I didn't say anything!" I said in wonder. Unless I was accidentally projecting my thoughts again....
"You didn't need to it was written all over your face." Brielle informed me with a smile.
"I'm clearly missing something but I'm a little scared to ask what," Draco told no one in particular.
"Please ask," Joshua replied. "Maybe then we can stop talking about my love life."
"Is your mother ranting about your fiancé again?" Everyone turned towards the door where my dad and Mr. Malfoy had been standing for who knows how long.
"Really dear," Mum said with a frown, "isn't ranting a bit strong of a word? Besides you know you want to meet our future son in law as well."
"I'm sorry love," dad gave mum a quick kiss on her cheek in apology as he sat down next to her. "Let me rephrase my statement." Dad took mum's hand in his, "is your mother politely and gently inquiring about your fiancé again Joshua?"
The sarcasm in his voice would have been obvious to a deaf man. He grinned as mum swatted at him with a "oh hush you." I hope that one day I'll have a relationship like that. I wrinkled my nose realizing that I sounded like a teenage girl.... But it is true. As imperfect as my parents are they seem perfect for each other and who doesn't want that...
