Disclaimer: Do I have to say this again? Ugh... fine, I don't own Harry Potter, but I want to :)
.
That owl fell not too far from where Severus was still standing, but he was far too preoccupied with more pressing matters on his mind. He was wondering what it was the Dark Lord had seen to make him say that; the memories that he had gone through flashed past his mind's eye too quickly for Severus to know which one he had been speaking about.
He growled as he stood there, he was either in deep shite, or in even deeper shite, like Avada Kedavra shite. He set off in the direction that he thought Malfoy Manor was; the Dark Lord had taken him around too many twists and turns too quickly to memorize, which he probably did on purpose. It took him at least an hour just to be able to see the sky again, which was being set aflame by the setting sun.
Severus rounded a corner that he was almost certain that he had gone by before, and literally stumbled across the downed owl. When he regained his balance, he glowered at the owl and knelt beside it. He recognized it as a Hogwarts owl by the letter attached to its leg, which just so happened to be addressed to him;
Mr. S Snape
The heart of the Maze
Malfoy Manor
Isle of Man"So that's where I am," Severus said out loud as he stood and stored the letter away for later in one of his pockets and walked on, leaving the dead owl with the same confusing thoughts. "What did the Dark Lord see?" Severus asked himself, not really paying attention to where he was going, he even ran into the hedge once or twice. "Did he say that to make me go through all of this so he could catch me off guard? To see if there really was a memory of mine that would make him say that?" Finding that to be the most favourable explanation for now, he began to focus on getting out of the blasted maze.
The stars were already out and shining brightly when Severus managed to find his way out; he barely achieved that thanks to the four-point-spell, without that, Severus would have found himself sleeping with the flock of albino peacocks that Lucius bought the other day. He trudged back up to his room and collapsed on his bed without changing out of his robes and ignored Dobby when he tried to get his master to do so.
!REVIEW!
Severus was walking down his street, heading towards his home with his hands jammed in his pockets when he saw his mother's lifeless body sprawled out on the sidewalk in front of him. Panic welled up inside him as he rushed to her side. He turned her over and found that she was dead, her dull black eyes staring at the sky. He cried out in anguish, sounding eerily like a wounded animal. Amidst his mourning a mangled mint green truck pulled up, and inside was his father, drunken and bloodied up, pieces of metal sticking out of his chest. As his father started to reach out for him, Severus awoke with a start.
His eyes were open wide as he lay there, never before had he had a dream like that, and he didn't want another. Without sitting up, he scanned the room Lucius had given him with wild eyes and saw his house elf standing next to his bed... but no mother, no father, no Spinners End.
"Master Severus sir, Dobby is so glad you is awake now!" Severus took a deep breath, trying to chase away that hellish dream while Dobby continued, "Lord Malfoy is waiting for you in the breakfast room!"
Severus looked over at his house elf, his eyes narrowing slightly, "What is the hour?"
"Tis ten 'o' clock, Master Severus sir!" Dobby said cheerfully.
The Slytherin placed a hand over his eyes, he would have liked to be up earlier, but that couldn't be helped now, "Have you got a fresh set of robes for me?"
