WISHFUL-THINKER 10 POV
The landings were never pleasant. I thought about that sentence when I opened up my eyes. Just thinking I would have to face a headache so big as New York state, I was shivering but here I was again. Back on the game.
Once my vision was increasingly less and less blurry, as though someone had just opened a kinda cloudy film in my eyes, the first thing I could see was a tanned nape, a slender and aesthetic neck. Above that nape a messy black chin-lenght bob cut hair. She was resting over the pillow and I was lying just behind that woman on bed. I sat up slowly and took a peek around.
The bedroom was nor large or small. Two wide windows with curtains and had its own bathroom. Surely it was part of the mansion that they had rented, a five-bedroom house built in 1935 at 649 Stone Canyon Road, not very far from Bel-Air hotel. Seemingly The Works's sessions had already begun.
Where did I land? Elideth had described me Amandine accurately, she was so good with words. Turn back the Time had got me into Amandine's bed. Ain't this time app got a funny sense of humour? I had had enough bed with Nina to repeat the formula.
I glided away towards the edge of bed, as quietly as possible when suddenly I felt something really cold against my side.
- Don't you make a single movement or else I will pierce you.
Her almost childish voice with that strong french accent, I couldn't help but think was very cute. I turned my gaze on her clenched fist holding I was not quite sure what it was. I kept still though. Something cold and sharp. What kind of weapon was that? I couldn't guess. I didn't know why I let out a giggle and I noticed her breath drawing nearer the back of my neck, warming it up.
- What are you laughing at?
- Nothing -but I giggled again.
- What did you do in my bed? Who are you?
- First I want to know what you got in your hand. It intrigues me.
- It's an ice pick.
- Oh, jeez. Do you think you are Catherine Trammell?
- Catherine what?
- You are very young, alright. When Basic Instinct got my generation running to the movies, you weren't even born yet. Get that thing away from me, will you?
- I won't. What are you doing in my bed?
- I can tell you Turn back the Time never fails to astound me. Don't you think that damn time travel app is teasing us sometimes? Definitely, Turn back the Time is a real pisser.
Amandine hurriedly turned on the lamp and I took advantage to turn around. Our eyes pierced each other for a while. Yes, she was such a beautiful creature. Exotic and very pronounced facial features, most likely spanish or southamerican blood was running through her veins. Long eyelashes shading a pair of dark eyes, well shaped and plump lips, angular face with well defined cheekbones. She looked young and fragile but quickly I grabbed the ice pick. She looked better without that dangerous weapon at hand.
