Today I was starting my last year of college. I had took a couple of years out of college to road trip around America with my older brother since we lost our parents. But today I started my senior year of college. Finally heading towards leaving college and becoming a writer. It is something that I have always wanted to do since I was a kid. It was my mum who pushed me into books and writing which is the only connection I have left with her.

I was on my way to my English Literature lecture, expecting old Professor Jackson but I was shocked when a beautiful blonde woman in her 30s walked in and started to introduce herself. The way she spoke about the course and how passionate she is about the course is absolutely amazing. I enjoyed just listening to her talk about the authors that we were going to cover this semester before she gave us all a task before she walked around the room to talk to her students individually.

"Hi I'm Mrs Johansson and you are?" She asked as she knelt down beside me. I couldn't tear my eyes away from her deep green irises.

"Y/N Y/L/N." I told her softly.

"I have heard a lot about you from some of the other professors who teach you." She smiled at me.

"All good things I hope." I chuckled before turning away and looking at the clock on the wall because being this close to her is making my heart beat crazy fast.

"Of course. They have all told me how amazing your writing style is and I can't wait to see some of your work myself." She smiled at me as she rested her hand on my thigh. "So what got you into writing?" She asked me as I swallowed harshly before answering.

"My mum, it was something that she had always loved to do. She wrote some short poems and short stories but she never had the courage to get her stuff published. I always found writing a way of escaping everyday life. Being able to live in a fantasy." I told her softly as I fought back the tears that wanted to escape at the thought of her.

"Do you want to become a professional writer?" She asked me.

"Yeah I do. I want to be able to make our dreams come true. I want my books to be escapes for people everywhere. To be able to just get lost in the words on the page and picture a fictional land with their imagination and getting to know the characters on a personal level because they feel safe reading the book and living inside the story." I told her as she just beamed at me.

"That is the best answer I have ever heard in my years of teaching." She said as she squeezed my thigh which I had actually forgot that she was resting her hand on me. "Do you have any of your work on you so I can take a read?" She asked me.

"Yeah, it's not quite finished yet but I am kind of working on a short novel right now." I spoke as I reached in my bag for my manuscript and handed it to her.

"The Tales of Time?" She asked me with a raised brow.

"Yeah, it's a fantasy book for all ages." I told her shyly as she stood up with it in her hand.

"I'll look forward to reading it." She smiled tenderly before she held it to her chest before walking off to the next person. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding in. The rest of the day went by fairly quick with the new professor on my mind. I went to the gym after classes to get a work out in before I headed back home for a shower and some food before getting to bed. I fell asleep with my mind full of thoughts of Professor Johansson.
