It was Friday, and after returning from school, I found myself contemplating what to wear to the ball Dad had organized for Hugo and me. Since Dad had discussed our future as rulers a few days prior, we'd already had our first training session.
As I pondered over my outfit options, there was a knock at my door. "Come in," I called out, and Baileywick entered with a large purple box.
"Prince Hugo has delivered this for you, Princess," he announced.
"Thank you, Baileywick. You can put the box down there," I replied, approaching the box and noticing a note attached.
"He Sof, I would really like you to wear what is in the box for the ball tonight. Hugo xxx," the note read.
I opened the box to reveal the most stunning dress, along with jewelry and heels. After donning everything and having the maids assist with my makeup and hair, I was putting on the final touches to my ensemble when Amber walked in.

"Oh my god, Sofia, you look absolutely amazing! And where did you get your dress?" she exclaimed.
"Thank you, Amber. Hugo sent all of this," I replied with a smile.
"That's so sweet of him. Anyways, Des sent me my outfit as well. How do I look?" she asked.
"You look amazing, Amber. We're going to be late, so we should get going," I said, taking her hand as we headed to the ballroom.

We waited for our names to be announced, and as "Presenting Princess Amber of Enchancia" echoed through the room, she gave me a quick goodbye and headed off.
Then, it was my turn. "Presenting Crown Princess Sofia of Enchancia," the announcer declared, and I took a deep breath before gracefully descending the stairs, feeling all eyes on me.
At the bottom, I saw Hugo extending his hand, and I placed mine in his as we made our way to the stage. Dad delivered a speech about our betrothals and my future as the next queen before Hugo and I began greeting the guests.
We danced from tango to Corinthia to Avalon and beyond until exhaustion set in.
"Hey, Sof, can we go out for a little fresh air?" Hugo asked.
"Sure, let's go," I replied, taking his hand as we headed to my garden. We talked until Hugo leaned in and kissed me. He quickly apologized, but I silenced him with another kiss.
"It's fine, Hugo, and I'm pretty sure we both enjoyed it," I reassured him with a smirk.
He chuckled, "I'm sure I did. You're a great kisser. We better get going before your dad sends a search party for us."
We returned to the ballroom, enjoying the rest of the evening together.
