Hugo's PoV

As Sofia finally stirred awake, Amber shot me a meaningful look, silently urging me to give them some privacy for a heart-to-heart. Concern gnawed at me as I left the room. What was King Roland trying to tell me? What did everyone else know that I didn't? And why was Sofia so stressed? The questions swirled in my mind, leaving me uneasy.

When Amber signaled it was okay to go back in, I entered cautiously. "Hey, are you okay, Sof?"

"I'm fine," she replied, but her forced smile betrayed her true feelings. I knew she was hiding something, but I didn't want to press her too hard.

"That's good," I said, trying to sound reassured. "But, Sof, is there something you're not telling me? Something I need to know?"

Her laughter was uneasy. "Hehe... no, everything's completely fine." I could see through her façade, but I respected her need for space.

"Are you sure?" I persisted, my worry refusing to abate.

"When the time comes, I'll tell you everything," she promised, but her evasiveness only fueled my concern.

"Okay... I'm just worried. I don't want whatever you're keeping from me to hurt you," I admitted, my voice filled with genuine concern.

"I'm fine, Hugo. Do you want to watch a movie?" Sofia suggested, changing the subject. I agreed, hoping to lighten the mood.

As we watched the movie, Sofia mentioned her plans for a big sleepover with friends from RPA and her school pals, and she even suggested inviting my friends too. The idea sounded like a welcome distraction, a chance to unwind amidst the chaos of our lives.

Yet, beneath my excitement, a nagging worry lingered. What if Sofia's stress resurfaced during the sleepover? I wanted her to confide in me, to share her burdens so I could help shoulder them. But perhaps, for now, all I could do was give her the time she needed.

Eventually, Sofia drifted off to sleep. Carefully adjusting her into a comfortable position, I quietly slipped out of the room, my mind still plagued by concern
