Chapter 5

Shadow chaos controlled back home since it was getting dark once he had gotten home he walked to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee but he remembered the cup of coffee he had abandoned this morning he dumped it into the sink and washed the mug

And made himself some coffee and sat on his couch switching through the channels on his TV he stopped on one that he liked and took a sip of his coffee but he wasn't really paying attention to the show he had this feeling that he couldn't rub off but he didn't know why like as if something bad was gonna happen.

He turned the TV off once he finished his coffee since he lost interest in the show

He stood up and went back to his kitchen and placed the dish into the sink and went to bed he hardly slept that night the more minutes that passed the more anxious he grew, this annoyed shadow he had work tomorrow he knew this uneasiness wouldn't go away anytime soon he groaned and closed his eyes

After a while of this, he started to relax a bit and was drifting off to sleep but was met with the most annoying sound he could have possibly imagined his eyes shot open at the sound of his alarm waking him up telling him he needed to get ready for work, he slammed his fist onto his alarm clock stopping it he sat up slowly sitting on the edge of his bed looking at the time shown on the clock '7:01' he groaned as he got up from his bed walking to his bathroom putting his shower on cold hoping the water would wake him up.

Once he was done he dried his fur and quills off and wrapped the towel around his neck as he brushed his teeth staring at himself in the mirror as he did so he knew today wouldn't end well maybe it was because of everything that happened just yesterday that's putting him on edge her just had a feeling, he spat out the toothpaste in the sink and rinsed his mouth off then started to brush his quills just the way he liked it.

He went downstairs to make himself some coffee before he left but instead was met with a white bat sitting at his table "what are you doing here bat" shadow groaned walking past her to make his coffee "its nice to see you too" rouge said, "answer the question" the ebony said "geez fine I just thought it would be nice to fly by and tell you sonics awake but I guess you don't care"the white bat said getting up from the chair "that's right, I don't care" shadow said but you could tell he did by the way his ears picked up slightly at the name of his blue rival this made rouge smirk at the dark one's actions "if you hurry we can take a quick stop to see him" rouge said putting her hands on her hips as she walked out the house, shadow finished his coffee and put his shoes on, and walked out the house "ready to go handsome" rouge said shadow didn't respond and just chaos controlled outside of sonics hospital room.

Shadow leaned against the wall as rouge was about to open the door "aren't you coming" rouge said but shadow just shook his head "I'd rather not" shadow said crossing his arms "And whys that?" rouge said also crossing her arms and raising a brow at the ebony but he didn't say anything he just looked away from the bat "don't be so stubborn come on" rouge said pulling shadow by the ear bringing him into the room "let go of me bat" shadow growled slapping her hand away once they entered.

Sonic was sat up in his hospital bed with tails sitting in a chair next to the bed feeding sonic as amy was talking to him just about some random stuff as he ate "oh, hey guys" sonic said with his mouth full "hey, handsome how are you feeling?" rouge asked as shadow leaned against the wall crossing his arms "I feel better that's for sure" sonic said swallowing his food, sonic said that but he still looks as bad as he did before he was still really pale shadow just stared at the blue hedgehog he knew he was lying the azure one noticed and gave shadow a small smile but shadow still didn't believe him the more he looked the worse he became the blue hedgehog had dark circles under his eyes he obviously didn't sleep well,

It pained him to see his rival that way even if he's not supposed to care, shadow sighed and chaos controlled to GUN rouge would probably show him a piece of her mind for leaving her behind but that would be later but right now he has paper work to do.

"Agent shadow" a GUN agent said "what" the ebony asked in a deep voice making the agent flinch "the commander would like to see you" they said shadow lowly growled in response and walked to his commanders office and walked in shadow wasn't afraid if anything that guy should be afraid of him "ah agent shadow, i have a mission for you and your partner agent rouge" he said "what's the mission" the ebony asked crossing his arms "Eggman has been destroying more and more cities since yesterday and his robots are stronger, faster, I want you and agent rouge to investigate his whereabouts" he said shadow humming in response and leaving the room as fast as he came

And went back to his desk to finish his paperwork "shadow" an annoyed female voice said making the ebony sigh "what, bat" shadow said not looking at the angered rouge standing next to him "we have a mission later" shadow said flatly "what's it about?" rouge said seeming less mad "we have to see what egg and up to"
