Chapter 12

When sonic woke up the next morning he didn't need tails to wake him up for once, he sat up in his bed rubbing his eyes and stretched making a grunting sound and yawned throwing his feet over the bed looking at his alarm clock it was still early but sonic didn't care he slipped on his shoes 'it wouldn't hurt to go on my run earlier than usual' sonic thought exiting his room.

He quickly made breakfast for him and his brother placing tails pancakes in the microwave for when the young fox is awake once he was all done with that he ran out the front door not worrying about locking it like always, he just ran no exact location just enjoying the feeling of the wind flowing through his quills he missed this feeling when he was stuck in that hospital even though for some its really not a long time and it wasn't its just the blue hedgehog wasn't very patient someone who is always running cant stand to stop for such a while so it naturally made him bored that was unless his friends visited.

Like tails, knuckles, Amy, rouge and even shadow they all cared enough to visit him whenever they could he thought about all of his friends but when he thought of shadow he slowed his run to a walk and leaned against a nearby tree sliding down it sitting on the grass not caring if the bark got stuck in his quills, he sighed touching his chest were his heart was beating uncontrollably

Sonic hugged his legs covering his face with his knees still holding his chest "shadow.." sonic muttered he wanted to be near the ebony to see him even though he saw him just yesterday but he was inpatient like that he knew he was going to see him soon but he didn't want to wait.

He started to feel weird all of a sudden it was a good kind of weird feeling though it made him feel safe and warm a familiar sensation he started  unconsciously purring hugging his knee's closer "miss me?" A low voice said sounding as if it came from above him, sonic looked up in the leaves he could see a dark figure sitting on a branch the figure jumped down and sat next to sonic "you got bark in your quills" shadow said picking out the wood, sonic looked at shadow the whole time 'how long was here i didn't see him come?' Once shadow picked out all of the wood he noticed the confused look from the hedgehog "i was here the whole time, if that's what your wondering" shadow said practically reading sonics mind

"huh? Oh yeah how'd you know?" Sonic asked "well it was easy to tell and you didn't seem to hide it" shadow said sonic opened his mouth to say something but didn't know what exactly to say he sighed and and leaned his head on shadows chest the ebony was surprised by this but didnt say anything about it he just rubbed the other ones back "what's wrong did something happen?" Shadow said calmly sonic just shook his head in response

"Do you want to come to my house?" Shadow asked sonic slightly lifted his head off the others chest "but isn't it destroyed?" "Yeah, but luckily GUN rented out another one while they repair my house i'll move back in soon but for now i have to stay there" shadow said "is it really ok?" Sonic asked "yeah, now come on we can race there if you like" shadow said standing up and putting his hand out for sonic to grab.

Sonic smirked and took his hand letting shadow help him up both getting in position ready to race they both shared glances for a while
"GO!"
They both said in unison leaving streaks of red and blue behind them as they ran.

It only took them a few minutes to reach the ebony's home which shadow was the one who obviously won this time "seems like i win" shadow smirked unlocking the door, the house was the size of a normal family home it was on the outskirts of town surrounded by forest "thats no fair I've never been here before" sonic said crossing his arms "don't be mad just because you lost" shadow said holding the door open for the azure hedgehog to go in which he did and shadow closed the door behind him "do you want anything?" Shadow asked taking off his shoes and going in the kitchen "anything is fine" sonic said back to his normal happy self as he also took off his shoes.

He sat on the couch and looked around there where one long leather couch in shape of an L and a single couch next to it with a big flat screen TV in front standing on a beautiful wooden TV stand and a short glass coffee table standing in front of sonic, he whistled seeing all the nice
up to-date furniture, he leaned back into the couch closing his eyes with his arms behind his head and started to think 'maybe now is the time i should tell him i know he feels the same I'm positive if not why would he do that yesterday' sonic thought for some reason he started to get nervous even though he already knew what shadow was going to say but he couldn't help it "sonic are you ok?" Shadow asked raising a brow at the hedgehog sonic opened his eyes and looked at the ebony "yeah I'm fine, why wouldn't i be?"

Sonic asked shadow looked down at the azure ones leg making sonic look at it too he hadn't even known he was tapping his foot rather impatiently sonic just laughed nervously and quickly sat up but kept tapping his foot, shadow sighed and set two cups on the coffee table and sat next to sonic "sonic what's wrong?" shadow said calmly and putting his hand on the other's thigh to make them stop "shadow I'm fine-" sonic said but was cut off when shadow put his other hand up gesturing for the azure hedgehog to stop talking

"Im being serious sonic really what's bothering you" shadow said softly trying to act as calm for sonic as possible

'Come on just do it!' Sonic thought once more "shadow I'm sorry for acting like this its just i wanted to tell you something" sonic said putting his hand on shadow's that were resting on his thigh and looking the dark one in the eyes

"What is it?" Shadow said smiling he already knew what sonic was going to say he just wanted to hear it, sonic took a deep breath "shadowiloveyoucanyougooutwithme-" sonic said quickly too quickly but luckily shadow was able to understand. well most of it. "Dang it" sonic said knowing he messed up shadow's smile widened he touched sonics cheek looking at each other with longing eyes both drawing into each other until their noses touched closing their eyes and then...

Their lips touched neither backing away causing the kiss to deepen and after a while they withdrew from the kiss leaving sonic slightly panting, sonic rested his head in shadow's chest fur covering his whole face shadow rubbed the back of the blue hedgehog's quills and kissed his head

"I Love you sonic" shadow said hugging around sonics waist "I love you too" sonic said happily snuggling into the soft fur and hugging back.

"I'll destroy that blue rat one day!* Cough cough*" Eggman said who was sitting up in his bed covered in bandages "please calm down sir you need to rest" orbot said trying to get the evil doctor to lay down "seriously you need to rest doctor your too old to be this hurt. See a white hair!" Cubot said plucking out a white string of hair from Eggmans mustache "woah your right, maybe i should retire?" Eggman said taking the white hair from the robot "oh and cubot" Eggman said "yes doctor?" The yellow robot responded "dont touch me!" Eggman continued and started to hit the robot on The head repeatedly.
