Chapter 6

Rouge and shadow were inside of another one of Eggman's bases thanks to shadow chaos controlling in they split up to cover more ground

Shadow was walking through the halls looking into some of the rooms that he passed by until he looked into another room one that was a wide room with plain metal floors and walls, a long white desk surrounded by gray file cabinets on each side, and one large screen in the middle of the room.

Shadow quietly looked through the file cabinets none of them catching his eye so he moved to the screen he turned it on showing a locked screen "damn it" shadow muttered to himself as he started looking through the desk drawers looking through them not finding anything useful in them until he moved everything aside he noticed a group of numbers written at the bottom of the drawer, he typed the code in giving the ebony access to the egg-shaped man's evil schemes.

He went through all the folders until he finally found what he needed he opened the document and started reading it, his eyes widened at what he saw it was all about how Eggman tried to use the azure hedgehog DNA to make his robots stronger by using the most painful method, shadow scrolled down more until he came across a picture at the very bottom of the document, it was sonic but he was strapped to a table with a tube coming out of his side. He was covered in blood and sweat looking almost lifeless. the more shadow looked the angrier he got and what really made him snap where the words written in the bottom left corner 'i win this time'

Shadow was beyond mad, he clenched his fists as they were shaking from anger he clicked out of the document and deleted all of Eggman's files every single one, then turned it off and ran out of the room to go look for his partner still clenching his fists as he ran through the hall until he saw a familiar white bat from afar "shadow, did you find it?" rouge asked as shadow ran up to her the ebony nodded his head and chaos controlled back to GUN headquarters "phew now I can go home I need my beauty sleep" rouge said stretching but shadow didn't say anything like usual but rouge noticed that he was thinking about something "you alright handsome?" rouge asked but this time he just walked away "where are you going?" rouge asked putting a hand on her hip "I'm going to report the mission" shadow finally said.

Once again walking into the commander's office "project shadow, how did the mission go? Good I hope" "yes I got the information that was needed, egg man is using was using the DNA of sonic the hedgehog to make his robots stronger," the ebony said "thank you project shadow you are dismissed" shadow nodded and chaos controlled in front of the 'hospital? I didn't mean to come here' shadow thought "oh hey shadow, you're here to visit sonic right?" a small orange fox said "I need to go back home for a while, do you think you could watch sonic for me? I don't want him to be alone," tails said shadow just nodded his head 'it's not like I have anything else to do' shadow thought "thank you shadow, I'll be back later!" tails said flying away.

Shadow chaos controlled into sonics room startling the poor blue hedgehog "shadow? What are you doing here" the azure one asked as shadow leaned against the wall away from the other hedgehog "miles told me to babysit you" shadow said crossing his arms "tails asked you? I feel like you'd be last choice" sonic said "shut up be lucky I even agreed" shadow said "yeah we'll I don't need to be watched I can take care of myself it's not like I'm paralyzed" sonic huffed "hardly" shadow said walking to the front of the hospital bed grabbing the clipboard hanging there "you might not be paralyzed but it says that you shouldn't move, which means that you do need someone to babysit you" shadow said putting the clipboard back.

"That was written a long time ago-" sonic said but was interrupted by shadow, "you mean 2 days ago" "whatever even if it's only been 2 days I'm feeling much better I don't need to be in here anymore," the azure said "you can hardly even feed yourself and your telling me that," the ebony said raising a brow "ok so it's just my arms, and it's not my fault they make utensils so heavy!" sonic said "speaking of food go get me something to eat" "didn't miles already feed you" shadow said "yeah but that was like an hour ago I'm still hungry" sonic whined shadow just glared at him 'im, not his maid why should I?' "fine what do want" shadow sighed "wow shadow I didn't expect you to agree" sonic smiled "just say what you want before I change my mind and let you starve," the ebony said

"I want a chilly dog extra jalapeno" sonic responded shadow nodded then chaos controlled away and sonic was by himself again he leaned back into the bed staring at the ceiling and sighed when he heard I knock at the door and then opened to reveal a nurse rolling a cart in the room with different medical supplies to check sonics health they do this everyday sonic hates this part of the day what Eggman did to sonic traumatized him and it scared him more since tails wasn't here with him this time "Mr. Sonic it's time for your check-up the nurse said standing next to the blue hedgehog's bed "ok- actually can we wait until my friend gets here he'll be here soon" sonic begged the nurse thought about it she knew that her patient was scared "ok I'll be back later for the check-up"

She said and left with the cart, sonic sighed of relief, and just then shadow chaos controlled back in the room holding sonics food "what took you so long" sonic asked "the wait was long" shadow said sitting down on the chair next to the azure hedgehog "open your mouth so we can get this over with" shadow said bringing the chili dog to sonics face which sonic happily bit into "it tastes different where did you buy it" sonic said talking with his mouth full "faker that's gross, and yes I got it from somewhere else why is not good?" shadow asked "no it's really good it just tastes different than where I normally eat" sonic said swallowing his food and taking another bite

"I had went there at first but they were closed," shadow said "that's weird they're only closed on weekends," sonic said finishing the last bite "phew that was good" sonic said "do you ever get tired of eating chili dogs" shadow question since all he sees the blue hedgehog eat is chili dogs "are you serious how could I get tired of them they're the perfect food" sonic said but once again there was another knock on the door then it opened revealing the same nurse from earlier "oh thank goodness your here I have to take Mr. Sonics check-up now," she said and stood next to him with the cart.

Sonic gripped his bed sheets and started to slightly shake his brother wasn't here to comfort him and now he couldn't come up with an excuse to not get his check-up "sonic? Calm down it's ok" shadow said grabbing his hand sonic didn't realize he was hyperventilating "I know you're scared but it's ok" shadow said putting his other hand on the blue hedgehog's shoulder the ebony could easily tell what was bothering sonic he knew all the things that Eggman had done to him which were making him worry 'he traumatized him this bad?' shadow thought as he rubbed the azure ones arm with his thumb making sonic relax his breathing while the nurse did her job.

Sonic flinched when the nurse injected sonics medicine with a syringe in his other arm sonic held the black hedgehog's hand that was holding his.

Sonic yawned as he was starting to doze off but the grip on shadows hand didn't loosen which the ebony didn't mind much "he'll be able to sleep peacefully now" the nurse said as she started to pack the supplies back on the cart leaving the room heading to her next patients by the time she left sonic was fast asleep still not letting go of shadow, shadow chuckled at this then leaned his head on his hand watching the blue hedgehog sleep but his smile vanished when he noticed the bandages on the blue ones ungloved hands.

It hurt the dark one's heart because of how much the blue hedgehog suffered, shadow laid his head on the bed unconsciously healing the azure hedgehog looking at his and sonics hand as he started to fall asleep.
